How Much Does Embalming Cost?

Embalming is a procedure which is performed on a dead body as a way to slow down the decomposition process.  This is done using a chemical process that elongates the time the body has before decomposing.  When a person dies, it is natural for their human body to decompose.  Most people have probably seen examples of this in nature when an animal dies.  When any body decomposes, the process results in a very bad smell coming from the body as well as the body beginning to look deformed.  In most countries and cultures, there is some type of ritual after death.  Part of the this ritual may be the display of the body, to which friends and family members come to pay their respects.  Because of this culture, embalming is performed to prolong the time when the body finally decomposes.
