How much does MedExpress cost?

The costs to go to a MedExpress center, like any urgent care center, will greatly depend on the reason for your visit, which tests are needed, the location and your health insurance coverage since the company does accept most major insurance plans.

For just a visit, without any additional testing, the costs, without insurance, at least from the Yelp reviews we read online, were in the $120 to $200 range.  Again, this was the price for those who had no insurance and required no additional testing, such as bloodwork or x-rays, for instance.   Simple physicals, however, could be much less, depending on the time of the year and promotion.  For instance, during the start of the school year and at the time of this publication, they were offering $30 physicals.

Does MedExpress accept insurance?

As for health insurance, the costs will greatly depend on your insurance policy details as the hundreds of policies on the market can vary.  Some people can pay as little as a $0 deductible to as much as $100+.  To know for certain, check your explanation of benefits or talk with your health insurance provider to know what you would be responsible for if you were to visit a MedExpress location.   You can also visit this link to see what insurance plans your local MedExpress accepts.

Medallion Signature Guarantee Cost

The Medallion stamp guarantee, also referred to as the Medallion signature guarantee, is a special signature guarantee to transfer securities and is seen as a guarantee by the transferring financial institution that the signature is genuine and in the case of forgery, the institution will accept any liability.  This signature, in turn, helps protect the shareholder in the case of preventing any unauthorized transfers and/or losses.  It can also help limit the liability of the transfer agent who accepts the certificate.

You will likely need this signature guarantee when you sell a physical stock certificate in order to prove to the securities agent that you are who you say you are and that you do have the right to sign over the rights to the assets you’re selling.  In some cases, you may also need it if you’re gifting or changing ownership on an investment account.

How much does a Medallion signature guarantee cost?

A Medallion signature guarantee, commonly available at your local banks, credit unions, and select law firms, will greatly depend on where you go to have it performed.  Keep in mind that in order for the institution to participate in the program, the institution in question has to pay an enrollment fee, and even if some institutions find the enrollment fee affordable, many still avoid enrolling since they can be held reliable in the case of a faulty transaction.

In most cases, however, DepositAccounts.com notes that, usually, only banks will provide the Medallion stamps if you are a current customer.  For example, Wells Fargo, Bank of America and Citibank, to name a few, will only provide the service to its customers, with some banks not only requiring an account but have an account that is at least six to 12 months old.  If you currently bank with a brick and mortar bank, be sure to call ahead of time to know if, for one, they offer the service, and secondly, if there are any terms and conditions if you were able to receive the stamp.

In conclusion, most banks will offer the Medallion signature stamp for free to their customers, but in the case they do charge, the fees we researched often range anywhere from $10 to $55 per guarantee.

First National Bank, for example, charges $40 for each guarantee and is only available to customers of the bank.  The bank also notes the transaction dollar limit for the service is $250,000 per transaction.

Institutions that offer free Medallion signature guarantees

The following nationwide institutions do offer the Medallion signature guarantees for free; however, in order to take advantage, you must be a current account holder and must perform all of the paperwork in person at select locations.  Talk with the institution in question for more information.

What is a Medallion signature guarantee?

This signature is an official stamp certificate which proves your identity, commonly for financial transactions involving securities.  In some cases, before you can buy, sell or transfer a bond, stock or a related financial asset without the use of a broker, a  Medallion signature guarantee will protect all parties in the case fraud arises.

Depending on which financial institution you use, they may use one of the three programs:  STAMP, SEMP or MSP, but regardless of which one is used, they all accomplish the same goal:  preventing fraud.  To learn more about each program, visit the following links.  Only institutions belonging to one of the said programs are able to provide the signature guarantee.

Medallion signature guarantee vs. a notary

While the Medallion signature guarantee and a notary both use stamps and require a certified professional, these two types of signatures are 100 percent different.  A notary can notarize any type of document, whereas a Medallion signature guarantee only focuses on securities.  Those who are able to provide a Medallion signature guarantee are trained and certified by the various stock and security exchange organizations as mentioned above, and in addition to this, only green ink can be used for a medallion signature guarantee, whereas a notary will use black ink.  Regardless, while both signatures can confirm your identity and make a document official, a Medallion signature guarantee can protect you in the case fraud does arise.

Where can I get one?

Aside from the financial institutions mentioned above, your local bank or credit union may provide the services as well as local brokerage and even some law firms.  Regardless of which provider you use, they will almost always ask that you have some sort of relationship with their company before they even consider the service.

Where can I get a medallion signature guarantee without an account?

Unofruatntely, you’re probably not going to be able to find one as the bank needs to personally vouch for you, and without an account with the bank, in which they need to confirm your identity in depth, no bank will take the responsibility of someone without an account, especially since they will be held reliable in the case of fraudulent activity.  Signing up for an account at most banks, however, doesn’t take long at all and is usually free, and doing so, you can receive a medallion signature after the account setup completes.

What should I bring?

Most institutions will ask that you bring in a photo identification, such as your driver’s license or a passport, and a proof of the transaction value and ownership for the securities in question, which could be a statement detailing the shares you own or the stock certificate.  Depending on your circumstances, you may also be asked to bring a probate with appointment letters, proof of power of attorney and/or a death certificate.  Be sure to talk with your institution ahead of time to know what you need to bring to your appointment to make sure things go as smooth as possible.

How did we get these numbers?  We used the company’s official estimator tool to gather these quotes, but remember, these are estimates only and can be more or even less, greatly depending on your circumstances as mentioned above.  If you were to use the company’s estimator tool, they will want you to schedule an in-home estimate to receive a detailed quote.

Based on estimates sourced online, we came up with the average in this table, but again, it can be hard to offer an exact estimate because, as you may know, there are so many factors to consider.

Type of HomeAverage Cost per 1,000 miles
Studio$1,500
1-Bedroom Apartment$2,200
2-Bedroom Apartment$3,900
2-Bedroom Home$4,000
3-Bedroom Home$6,500
4-Bedroom Home$9,000
5-Bedroom Home$12,500

NOTE:  Remember, your quotes can change greatly based on the factors mentioned below.

What determines the moving quote?

As with any move, there are a variety of factors that can affect your moving quote, including:

Moving quote process

  1. The company will first ask that you complete the simple “request a quote online” form, where it will ask for your moving date, the origin zip code, destination zip code your contact information.  If you do not want to fill the form out online, you can also call the company at 1.877.720.4066.  If you do, be prepared to share information about your move, including the date of the move, where you’re moving to as well as information about your home and which add-on services you may want to add.
  2. Once you submit this information, the company will then call you to confirm an appointment, where an authorized representation will help discuss your needs and schedule a survey.
  3. On the day of your survey, the representative will be able to scan your home and belongings and determine the exact costs for your move based on your customizations.  During this time, you do not have to commit to the move.  This in-home estimate is required as per the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
  4. If you do decide to choose Mayflower as your moving company, then you will need to call the company, where a representative will help walk you through the process, offer tips, create a checklist for you and set the moving date.

Tips to know

Some items are not allowed on a moving truck, such as chemicals, paints, batteries and anything else that’s considered to be hazardous.  If you’re unsure, talk with a representative before your move to know what you can and cannot bring on the van.

The company does state they can offer local moves; however, the company will refer you to local agents instead.  Be sure to ask who you will be working with as the company works with more than 300 agents.

How much does Mathnasium cost?

If you’re interested in learning about the costs of Mathnasium, the company asks that you contact your local center or fill out the form on the official website of your center for more information.  At the date of this publishing, for example, the centers we looked at offered a free trial if you wanted to see how the system worked.  We were also able to find some discounted deals for some locations via Yelp.com and Groupon.com as well.

From the looks of it, the company offers three-, six- and 12-month plans, all of which range anywhere from $300 to $425+ a month, all depending on the plan you sign up for, the curriculum and which location you choose.  Aside from this monthly fee, it appears there’s an assessment fee, which averages about $100 as a one-time fee, and another $50 or so for the registration fee.  These fees, however, are often waived during certain promotional periods.

Aside from the recurring monthly fees, the company also offers summer programs, which average anywhere from $395 to $1,000+, greatly depending on the number of sessions, the location and the curriculum.  This EventBrite.com page, for instance, had summer programs ranging anywhere from $395 for eight sessions for grades 1-8 and up to $975 for unlimited one-hour sessions.

While the company did not list the prices they charge, we were able to find people who did use the franchise online via various multiple third-party resources, which we included inside of the table below:

Mathnasium Method™

The Mathnasium Method™, created by Larry Martinek, the creator of Mathnasium, was developed based on Larry’s extensive experience for more than 40 years of teaching math to kids.

Starts with an assessment

All Mathnasium students, regardless of their level, start with a customized assessment which helps pinpoint their learning needs, allowing the company to meet them “where they need to be and take them where they need to go.”  The company’s assessment test, as per the company, was designed in a way, with great accuracy, to help determine exactly what your child knows today and what they need to learn for the future.  The test also reveals each specific skill that needs to be mastered so that your kids are not reviewing material they already know.  Even as your child continues with the program, he or she will continue to take assessments to make sure they are progressing as they should as well as retaining the information they already learned.

Customized learning plan

After the assessment completes, Mathnasium then is able to create a customized learning program, which is designed in a way to help teach your child the concepts he or she needs to master as well as create specific goals using a combination of the company’s proprietary materials and instruction.

Tutoring

With this customized learning plan, Mathnasium’s specially-trained tutors are then able to use it and teach the instruction to help make sure your child masters the materials, providing you with regular updates and quarterly progress reports, showing your child’s progress.  All of these sessions take place inside of a center in small groups, in a 3:1 ratio, and no homework is ever required once your child leaves.  According to the company, each tutor is required to pass a rigorous math screening test, become familiar with the company’s approach and translate all of these concepts which relate to the kids.

MasterShield Gutter Guard Cost

Gutter guards by MasterShield are said to be the “gold standard,” according to the company, keeping debris out of your gutters while letting the water flow through your downspouts.

With the company’s multi-patented microfiltration technology and strong flexible construction, the gutter guards are capable of blocking any debris larger than half the width of your hair.

How much do MasterShield gutter guards cost?

On the official website of the company, MasterShield.com, they do not offer exact prices; rather, they ask you to get a free estimate on your gutter guards today via one of the company’s local dealers by filling out a form with your name, zip code, phone number and email address.  Since each job is very unique and depends on a number of factors, it can be hard for the company to offer an estimate.  Keep in mind that if you do fill out the estimate form, you can receive a no-obligation quote from a local dealer.

While the company didn’t offer estimates, we glanced at quite a few third-party websites, which we source below, and can estimate the costs of the gutter guards, plus installation, should be in the $20 to $30 per foot range, but these prices can be much more if you needed additional jobs done such as replacing gutters and/or rotted fascia boards, for example.

The costs of the MasterShield gutter guards, as per HandymanHowTo.com, is “comparable to other higher-end professionally installed gutter guards,” but the costs, in total, will greatly depend on the complexity of your roof, the total feet of gutter guard materials, if new gutters are needed and/or if any repairs are required, such as replacing rotted fascia boards, for example.

On Angie’s List, they interviewed a local co-owner of a MasterShield company and he stated they charge around $5 per foot for basic to mid-range gutter guards, but he also noted homeowners should be prepared to pay $20 to $24 per installed foot if they chose a MasterShield-like product.

A poor review on PissedConsumer.com said he was quoted $30 per linear foot by his local franchise.  Another review on the same website said he paid $9,500 but the length was unknown.

How do the MasterShield gutter guards work?

First introduced in 2011, the MasterShield gutter guards are made from a thin yet stronger aluminum frame, which allows the product to conform to all of the imperfections of your home’s gutters, such as warped subroofs, uneven fascia boards and the drop from your home’s highest point to the lowest point at the downspout.  During the install, your local dealer will install the system as close as they can to the existing pitch of your room, allowing the airflow coming down from your roof to work in a way to keep the debris from getting into your gutters at all.  On top of this, the company’s HydroVortex Technology, which is developed to allow the guards to be installed on an angle, allows the water to be pulled into the gutters, even if installed up and down.

The installation process

According to HandymanHowTo.com, his installation took two days and consisted of the following:

All jobs can be quite unique, but for most jobs, this is how your install should look, but each dealer, from what we researched, could offer different inclusions and/or do things in a different way.  The same can be said about your current home’s condition.  For example, if your home is newer, then the new gutters may not be required, which, as you can imagine, can bring the costs down.

Warranty

The company guarantees that your gutters will not clog, and in the case it does, they will replace it or even refund you the cost of the MasterShield product (not install costs) installed on your home, but the company tells you to not stop there.  If the gutters clog causes a damage claimable against your homeowners’ insurance, the company will refund your deductible up to $1,500.  This warranty comes directly from the manufacturer and also transferable in case you sell your home in the future.  To learn more about the warranty, you can do so by visiting the official website.

Trump Grand Ballroom is often the choice for larger weddings, whereas the White & Gold Ballroom is ideal for smaller parties, both of which are the two primary ballrooms accessible on the property.  The 20,000 Grand Ballroom, according to Cosmopolitan, cost $7 million to build and includes gold leaf and gold-plated sinks worth reportedly $100,0000.  As for cocktail parties, most wedding parties often hold it poolside, usually at night.  To see a wedding in pictures, this StrictlyWeddings.com post provides a variety of pictures at the property from a wedding held in 2015 as does this Sara Kauss Photography page.  The maximum capacity is said to be 250 guests.

As for the resort features, the Mar a Lago club sits oceanside, with access to private beaches, a world-class spa and salon, six tennis courts, a croquet court, fitness center, a Beach Club, pool, whirlpool and a chip and putt golf course.  All of these features, however, are accessible by members of the club and may be limited to non-members who hold a wedding here.

Malibu Rocky Oaks Estate Vineyards wedding cost

While the official website of the Malibu Rocky Oaks Estate Vineyards doesn’t specify the costs of a wedding, we did find a few third-party websites that we able to get in contact with the venue as well as couples who had their wedding there in the past.

According to these third-party sources, such as WomanGettingMarried.com, the average rental fee, like most wedding venues, will greatly depend on the time of year you want to get married and the number of guests, with the peak months, April through October costing $15,000 to $35,000 to rent the facility, while renting anywhere from November through March can range anywhere from $15,000 to $20,000 to rent the entire facility.   This is also confirmed via a review on Yelp.com as well. Remember, this is just the fee to rent the venue and will not include any additional expenses, which we will delve into below.

This EventUp page notes a wedding fee can be $25,000.

What’s included in the rental fee?

The entire venue is dedicated to one wedding party for the day and is available from 7 a.m. until 2 a.m but is said the venue will not close to the public for a wedding event.  A luxury bathroom trailer, and, if your wedding is held from April to October, parking lot attendants for your guests will be included in your rental fee.  For every 50 guests, the venue asks you to supply one port-a-potty.  Also, the venue will include a bridal suite and a holding room for the groomsmen.

The venue, offering both inside and outside spaces, can accommodate up to 150 outside on the helipad and 180 seated on the poolside patio.  According to the venue, most parties typically start with the ceremony on the helipad, followed by cocktails on the North patio, then a seated dinner on the pool patio.  As the night completes, dancing is held inside of the venue.

Additional costs to consider

Catering:  As you are able to choose from vendors on an approved list, the catering fees will greatly depend on who you choose and what your menu looks like.  Catering, on average, for this type of venue setup, can easily start a $125+ a person.

Security Deposit:  As with any venue, a security deposit is required, which, here, it is said to be $4,000 to secure the date and will be refunded upon completion with no damaged noted.

Cleaning Fee:  WomanGettingMarried does note a one-time $500 cleaning fee does apply to all reservations and will not be included in the rental fee.

Security Guard:  A security guard fee, starting at $300, can increase in price depending on the number of guests attending your wedding.

Wine Minimum:  A minimum wine purchase via the wineyard is said to be about $250.

Tips to know

Coules are allowed to bring in their own vendors as long as you choose from a pre-approved list.  If you choose a caterer on the list, however, WomanGettingMarried does note that they will not be able to use the kitchen on site; instead, they will have to use the garage as a prep space.

To see the venue in action via pictures, this California Wedding Day piece took pictures of Danielle and Jare’s wedding in the past.  More pictures can be found via this theSouthernCaliforniaBride.com post from 2015 as well.

According to one member on this WhattoExpect.com forum thread, someone who used to work at a MAC standalone store said you would have to purchase $50 in merchandise in order to receive a complimentary makeover session, but she also mentioned that you if you wanted an artist who doesn’t walk away during your session to call your store or book an appointment online ahead of time.

MAC makeover options

Complimentary sessions with a purchase

Stylists inside of the store, if you plan on taking advantage of a complimentary session, will first ask you to browse the store to look at products that you may interest in.  At this time, they can help you pick out products, explain the benefits, talk about the latest trends and answer any questions you may have about the products.

When you are ready to begin the process and complete your payment, then you will usually have your makeup done near the makeup counter out in the open, and unlike the service makeover, the stylist may have to walk away occasionally to help another customer. During this time, the makeup artist will discuss your desires, talk about the current trends and eventually attempt to create a look that you’re envisioning, all while using some of the company’s latest products.

During the complimentary makeup sessopm, any existing makeup will be removed, if needed, since a bare face, while not required, is often highly recommended.  As the makeup is applied, while doing so, the stylist will explain the techniques they are using, all while answering questions and providing tips while it’s being done so you’re able to perform the same techniques at home.    Once completed, the stylist should provide you with a list of all the products that were used and may encourage you to purchase more products aside from the products initially purchased.

Service makeovers

In comparison to the complimentary sessions, the full-service makeovers, as noted in the table above, can last much longer and will be more defined since the artist focuses on providing the client with a look they requested rather than trying to sell some of the products inside of the store.  This session will be done in a private area and you do not have to worry about the sylist walking away at any time as he or she will be dedicated to your session until they finish.  While the company does offer service makeovers to walk-in clients, the company often advises you call in ahead of time to schedule an appointment.

During this type of makeover, the stylist will first want to know what type of makeover you’re looking for as well as ask about the event you’re planning on attending to help the artist better understand your wants and desires.  Based on this information, the stylist will select the products he or she feels will work best for your situation and will then adjust and discuss as the process continues.  While it’s not mandatory, the stylist will talk about the products used, offering you the chance to purchase them if interested.

The entire process was described in detail at Revelist.com if you wanted to read about it from a personal perspective.

Tips to know

As mentioned, it’s highly advisable you book an appointment, even if you think the store will not be busy.  As you probably can imagine, the store tends to be the busiest during the weekends, holidays and the prom season.

For a complete list of stores, use the official store location tool on the company’s website.

One member on Reddit.com highly recommends purchasing $50 of the product since you can get not only the product but the complimentary session as well, which according to her, it was just as good as the service makeover.  The biggest difference, however, as we mentioned, is that you will not receive a private session and there’s the chance of the stylist walking away if she needed to help someone else.

How Much Does Magic Mouthwash Cost?

Mixed medication mouthwash, oftentimes referred to as “magic mouthwash,” as per the American Academy of Nursing, is commonly used to help prevent or even treat oral mucositis, but it can also help relieve canker sores and even a sore throat.

Usually compounded by a pharmacy, often containing anticholinergic agents, such as diphenhydramine, and an anesthetic, such viscous lidocaine, as well as an antacid or muscosal coating agent, this mouthwash is usually prescribed by your dentist.

While it may provide some relief for some, Timothy J. Moynihan, M.D. notes that it’s unclear how effective it is.

How much does a magic mouthwash prescription cost?

The costs of magic mouthwash will depend on a few factors, including the brand and the pharmacy you use (if prescribed).  According to our research,  the costs of an eight-ounce bottle tends to be in the $35 to $65 range.

Since magic mouthwash isn’t considered a prescription drug, rather a combination of various medicines, your insurance coverage may cover it depending on your policy restrictions.  Some drugs may be covered, but to be certain, talk with your insurance company and local pharmacy to know what you may be responsible for.

On this Cancer.org forum thread, for example, one member paid $69, but after insurance, it was reduced to $2, while another member on this same forum thread said she paid $79 for her prescription.

Someone on CancerCompass.com said he was quoted $60 a bottle with a script, while another on this same thread said he only paid $30.

Non-prescribed mouthwash, however, which tries to mimic the effects of a prescribed mouthwash, often ranges anywhere from $11 to $22 per eight-ounce bottle and will depend on where you purchase it and which brand you consider.  Do keep in mind, however, that a non-prescribed mouthwash will not have the active ingredients a prescribed mouthwash has, simply meaning it may not work for your ailment/condition.

The American Academy of Nursing, cited above, performed a study, exploring the costs of varying magic mouthwash brands on the market and found the average eight-ounce compounding kit could cost anywhere from $34 to $50.  When used four to six times a day, the common prescription for this type of mouthwash, this prescription would only last two days or less, meaning you should be prepared to budget about $17 a day to use the mouthwash.

Magic mouthwash overview

According to the Mayo Clinic, there are several versions of magic mouthwash on the market, with some available in a pre-measured kit that’s mixed by a pharmacist, while others are “prepared to order” via a pharmacist.  In any case, if your doctor or dentist determines magic mouthwash is best for your situation, then he or she will write a prescription, and it will be similar to that of any other mouthwash coming in a liquid form.

Most prescriptions are intended to be used every four to six hours, and like over-the-counter mouthwash, it should be held in your mouth for about one to two minutes.  You should also avoid eating or drinking anything at least 30 minutes prior to taking the mouthwash to make sure it takes full effect.  As all magic mouthwash brands can vary, be sure to read the label closely for more information as to how to use it properly as well as talk with your doctor for more information.

Ingredients

Regardless of which type you choose, it should contain at least three of the following ingredients:
