How much does a Renaissance ClubSport Membership cost?

This Patch.com article states a single membership can cost $132 a month with a $600 initiation fee, making the most expensive club option in Walnut Creek, California.

Via this official Yelp review, a member stated she was quoted $160 a month for his membership and another was quoted close to $250 a month plus a $20 valet parking fee each time she visiting.

Renaissance ClubSport overview

The 84,000 square foot location in Walnut Creek offers a range of services, including a 12,000 square foot fitness center, spa and a 175 room boutique hotel on site.  Also on the property includes a full-service restaurant, six-lane outdoor water lap pool, children’s wading pool, recreation pool, three racquetball courts, one squash court, two bocce courts, basketball, volleyball, and an onsite childcare center.  Inside the fitness center, a variety of group classes, more than 150+ per week, are available, including Yoga, Tae Bo, Nia, Zumba, cardio, dance and cycling to name a few.  Throughout the year, the club offers special events for its members.  You can read more about their amenities in depth by visiting the official website.

What are the extra costs?

Memberships may include a non-refundable processing fee.

Parking, according to members, can cost $10 at the parking garage or $25 to valet park.

Childcare is said to be $10 per hour per child.

Personal training sessions, while optional, can be an additional cost to budget for if you plan on signing up with one.  The costs, as with most gyms, will depend on the number of sessions you commit to.  The same can be said about personal nutrition counseling.

Private and group swim lessons are available for a fee.

Some specialized group sessions may incur additional fees.

Leagues, clinics, tournaments and drop-in play, available for some sports, can incur additional fees.

How can I save money?

The club does offer a trial pass for new members.  This is a great way to test the club before fully committing to the club.

From time to time, the club will advertise on Groupon.com.  For instance, in the past, they offered a 14-visit pass for $39.  Before signing up, see if any deals are active that you can take advantage of.
