How Much Does a River Crest Country Club Membership Cost?

The River Crest Country Club, located in Fort Worth, Texas, opened in the spring of 1911.

The club was the eighth country club in Texas and was the first club in Texas to obtain a residential housing development on its property. It was also the first club to host a state-wide women’s golf tournament, with its members creating the Women’s Texas Golf Association in 1916. Furthermore, River Crest is the only country club to send two golfers at the same time to the Curtis Cup competition, a tournament between top female amateur players in the U.S. and Great Britain.

How much does a River Crest Country Club membership cost?

The cost of a membership, as with any country club membership, will greatly depend on the type of membership you sign up for.  According to some sources, the prices are as follows:

The membership options

Stockholder – Provides full access to all club amenities, with the right to vote and is transferable.

Senior – Designed for members who are older than 70 years old.  This membership provides full access to all club amenities, but it is non-voting and cannot be transferred.

Non-Resident – An option for members who do not reside within Tarrant County.  This membership provides full access to all club amenities, but it is non-voting and cannot be transferred.

Junior – A membership option for those who are younger than 35 years old.  This is a nonvoting membership option and offers full access to all club amenities.

River Crest Country Club overview

The club offers an 18-hole 6,368-yard golf course, which was designed by Tom Bendelow and later on improved by Williams, Gill & Associates. The course opened in 1911. Practice areas include practice bunkers, a driving range, putting greens and chipping areas. There is also a fully stocked pro shop on site that offers club fittings, club and cart rentals. The course has an on-site beverage cart, snack bar and a nearby restaurant with a full-service bar.

Aside from its golf offerings, the club also offers 11 indoor tennis courts, a modern fitness center and a 50-meter swimming pool.

What are the extra costs?

Green fees for guests and members without golfing privileges can cost anywhere from $75 to $110 depending on the day of the week. The course a private equity golf course with an ‘Accompanied by Member’ guest policy.

Converting a membership in the future or reinstating a membership can incur additional costs.

Golf lessons are available for its members for an additional fee.

Tips to know:

Members in good standing may nominate candidates, and according to brochure previously cited, three stockholding members of the club must sponsor each new member.  A final consideration will be made by the Board of Directors at its next meeting.

The 1984 white-columned clubhouse was given recognition by the Texas Society of Architects.

The club can break up the initiation fees into multiple equal payments.
