Yes, I said $4500.00. Count the zeros. If you go over 10 feet in width, prepare to wreck your budget. 12 feet wide puts your move in a different category.. We were looking for storage for our military son's household goods and woodshop stuff, and were thrilled to get a great price on two 12 X 32 foot sheds. Totally empty, ready to go, even had axles installed for towing.

We were told by the seller that they had been moved from downstate by a large F350 truck. We had two trucks available, and were moving them 25 miles with no obstructions or traffic lights on a rural road. Or planned to. Oh well.

When we checked on permits, our local motor vehicle office was no help, and referred us to the building permit office, who also had no clue. It wasn't a mobile home, therefore they did not know. DOT's website was no help, except to say that moves and permits were now handled by the FL Highway Patrol. FL Highway Patrol never returned calls.

We called everyone possible, including the manufacturer, but unless you want to buy one, forget getting info on actually moving the stupid thing.

Finally got a return call from a trailer mover (out of six we called), who quoted $1800. Ouch! But we were desperate. We had paid for the sheds and the former owner was moving in two weeks. As soon as he heard that, the trailer mover said he "didn't realize" we had meant two separate sheds, or set up. Yeah, right. Anyway, the price went up to $4500 and my husband and I were both sick. The overall investment was ridiculous.

I absolutely would not recommend buying ANYthing over 10 feet wide if you have a small budget, especially if you're getting used sheds to rehab or for storage. It isn't worth the moving costs. You can find something smaller and newer for a lot less hassle.
