How Much Does a Pulpotomy Cost?

A pulpotomy is a dental procedure usually performed on young children whose primary teeth have been affected with deep cavities.  It involves drilling into the tooth and removing the decaying tooth pulp found in the pulp chamber before the area is treated with medication.  Then, a packing is set in place, and when done, a crown is placed on the tooth to protect it from further decay.

Some children are susceptible to tooth decay and tend to lose their baby teeth sooner than they should.  The problem usually begins when they develop deep cavities that reached into the nerves just above the roots.  Because of this, they may feel a certain degree of discomfort, and when ignored, the problem could penetrate further down, affecting the roots. To solve this problem, a dentist would usually advise this procedure.
