Currently have GSC13...builder grade low end... has never cooled the sq. Ft for a 5 ton unit. I did my due diligence based on the above article and checked into a 5 Ton unit. The price quoted XL18i not including installation the unit starts at 10000 and for the XL20i is 12000 not including installation. Installation roughly another 3000.00. For Chuck in Charleston, SC, can you send that unit out west. 7300 is more appealing than 12000 plus installation. No rebates or incentives for this area.

We got the 3ton XL18i. The company was very professional but even after all the rebates they said we got it seems we still over paid. That was 2 years ago but the system made a BIG difference inside our home. We love it.

We have had our Trane since 2002 and this summer it ran constantly for 10 weeks at 78 degrees. It keeps the humidity out, therefore making it cooler. It is well worth the price.
