The Contra Costa Country Club, a private club nestled in Pleasant Hill, California, is nestled within the oak, eucalyptus and redwoods, offering views of the surrounding mountain and valleys.

How much does a Contra Costa Country Club membership cost?

Membership to join the club, as with any country club will all depend on the type of membership you want to apply for.  From our research, although not confirmed, Proprietary members pay a $30,000~ initiation fee, while  Junior Executive and Social members will be a fraction of this cost.  At this time, these fees are deemed to be estimates and cannot be guaranteed.  We highly advise you to contact the club for more information in regards to the official membership pricing.

The membership options

Proprietary Membership: A proprietary member own one pro-rata share of the outstanding capital of the Club, together with the other already-existing Proprietary Memberships. These members are entitled to full rights, voting privileges and privileges, including the use of the golf course, driving range, swimming pool, and clubhouse. Their eligible dependents are also entitled to the same rights and privileges that they enjoy.

Junior Executive Membership (JEM): Designed for members younger than 36 years old. They enjoy the same rights and privileges due to Proprietary Members of the Club but will pay reduced fees.

Social Associate Membership: This membership class is invited to attend all of the social events hosted by the club. These members are offered unlimited use of the pool pavilion and its amenities. They are also allowed to play with a guest for four rounds of golf upon payment of a fee and at the same time, the use of the practice range or putting green.

Amenities offered by the club include the Robert Trent Jones II golf course, fully stocked golf pro shop, practice area, driving range, the 22,600 square foot clubhouse, the Grille and Bar, swimming pool, wading pool (for kids), pool house, recreation area, and two bocce courts.  To see the course hole-by-hole, the official club’s website does offer a 3D flyover and pictures of every hole.

Members can also join the different tournaments, holiday events, and invitational or social events that the club hosts almost every week.

The 3,800 square-foot Banquet Room is also available for parties, receptions, weddings and dances.

What are the extra costs?

Private/group lessons, tournaments, outings and leagues can all incur additional costs.

Social events, commonly held throughout the year, will often have fees.

Tips to know:

Its original course was designed by Arthur Vernon Macan in 1925 and was later redesigned by Robert Muir Graves in the early 1900s. The new design was made according to the standards set by the United States Golf Association (USGA). With a new design crafted by the renowned, Robert Trent Jones II, improvements were completed in November 2014 with the aim of re-branding the country club. The newly-designed 18-hole, 71 par golf course was opened in May 2015 and spans 6,850 yards from the longest tees, with a course and slope rating (on Rye grass) of 71.5 and 131, respectively.
