The cost of Firestone standard/lifetime brake service cost

A member on this forum thread at AnAndTech.com said he was quoted $16.99 for a courtesy brake inspection, but this fee was waived later if you committed to the service. In the end, he broke down his quote as the following: $59.99 for the ceramic disc pads, $115 for the brake job ee, $151 for both rotors, $12.99 for the brake fluid exchange, $2.60 for the fluid waste disposal and $74.40 for the fluid exchange labor.
Brake service options offered
Standard package – Known as the “good” package, this brake service package includes installation of new brake pads/shoes, resurfacing the brake rotors/drums, an inspection of all brake components and a lifetime part warranty on the shoes and disc pads, as well as a 12,000-mile labor warranty.
Standard package with a fluid exchange – Includes everything in the standard package, plus a brake fluid exchange/bleeding the brakes and a longer warranty — 24,000 miles, 24-month labor warranty.
Lifetime service – Known as the “best” package, this brake service package includes everything noted in the fluid exchange package, plus new brake calipers/wheel cylinders and a lifetime warranty on labor, the brake disc pads, brake shoes, brake hardware, calipers and/or the wheel cylinders and the shoes. It also includes a 12,000 mile, 12-month warranty and the drums and the rotors.
In total, the company can perform any brake service, including a brake fluid exchange, replacement of any brake hardware, including the rotors, wheel bearings, brake hoses, drums and master cylinders, as well as resurfacing any rotors, cleaning/adjusting the drum brakes, repacking wheel bearings and/or repair/diagnosing an anti-lock braking system.
The inspection
If you think you’re in need of a brake service and inspection, the company will perform a free brake check, seven days a week, which includes measuring both brake pads, the rotor and drum, as well as performing a strip dip brake fluid test and e-brake inspection. With these results, they will then determine if you need new brake pads, rotor resurfacing, a brake fluid exchange, brake bleeding and/or a replacement of any lines, hoses or other related brake components.
