How Much Does a Firestone Country Club Membership Cost?

Written by: Staff

The Firestone Country Club is a private golf club located in Akron, Ohio and is a part of the ClubCorp family.

Established in 1929, the club is home to three courses — North, South, and West — with each hosting a televised golf event, including the PGA Championship in the past.

How much does it cost to join the Firestone Country Club?

The cost of a membership at the Firestone Country Club, as with any country club, will greatly depend on the type of membership you’re looking to sign up for.  From what we researched, the initiation fees, coming from most members, will be north of $30,000 and the monthly dues can be $300+ to $700, again, depending on the type of ClubCorp membership you want to add.

The Golf Channel notes that it will cost $600 in additional dues if you were to upgrade to a ClubCorp Signature Gold membership.

D Magazine notes most ClubCorp memberships can range from $275 to $750 for the country clubs.

Firestone Country Club overview

Applications for a membership are subject to the approval of Firestone Country Club’s Admission Committee.

The club offers Resident, Non-Resident, International, and Corporate memberships.  Non-Resident memberships are for individuals who reside in areas located more than 50 miles from the club.  International memberships are for people whose residence and chief place of business is located outside North America.  Corporate membership consists of an unlimited number of designees from the same company.

A Firestone Country Club membership provides access to a local and worldwide network of over 200 private clubs and special offerings at numerous hotels, resorts, and entertainment locales.  Depending on the type of membership, a member can avail of the following: access to amenities, use of network club amenities, free and discounted dining, free and discounted golf, advanced tee times, ClubLine for concierge services, TicketLine for access to premium ticket services, and partner discounts and privileges.

Club amenities include a putting green, a practice bunker, a chipping area, a driving range, rental clubs, as well as dining, accommodations, and business services.  Club members also have access to a network of more than 200 private golf clubs as well as country clubs, resorts, and business clubs. Additionally, members can participate in national golf tournaments and national events.

What are the extra costs?

The guest green fees can cost $90 per 18 holes or $45 per nine.

Private lessons, available at the club, are additional costs to consider.  According to the official website, an individual instruction can range from $100 to $200 per session for the PGA Director of Golf or about half this if you were to hire an assistant golf professional.

Club storage, another option for members, won’t be included in most membership plans.

Club fittings are available, with fees ranging from $60 to 120 per driver, iron or wedge set.  The costs will depend on if you purchased the clubs at the golf course or elsewhere.

Tips to know:

Firestone Country Club also offers members and their guests the use of their facilities for weddings, private events, and meetings.  Meeting room fees do not apply when booking an event that includes lunch or dinner.

Members of the Firestone Country Club can enjoy access to all of ClubCorp’s clubs as well as the facilities and amenities of its partners for incremental charges.
