How much do CKO kickboxing classes cost?

The price of a CKO boxing membership usually depends on the geographical location.  The membership usually varies, but the most common memberships offer will be either a monthly or annual membership. On average, monthly membership fees can start at $35 and go as high as $150.  The longer you sign up for the program, the more you will be able to save per month.

ClubKOGyms.com, for example, offers CKO kickboxing programs memberships that last anywhere from one week to a full year. The price for their membership, according to the website, ranges anywhere from $450 to $700 annually, while monthly memberships can cost $45 to $130.

CKO kickboxing overview

CKO kickboxing claims that an individual can burn as many as 1,200 calories per hour, and a single session usually lasts for 45 minutes to an hour.  The quality of the exercise will vary depending on the member’s experience and expertise with the program.  During your first session, for example, you will be taught the basics of punches and kicks to learn more about the program.  As you progress, each class will work at your pace.  Once signed up, you can schedule your class using their online scheduler.  From our research, it appears as if classes are opened from 5:30 a.m. until as late as 8 p.m.

These sessions are available at franchise gyms located across the United States.  Refer to the official location search to find a gym near you.

Your membership will entitle you to unlimited sessions throughout the month.

What are the extra costs?

Equipment used, which you will need to purchase separately, will include the headgear, gloves, and appropriate footwear.  The gloves, for instance, can be purchased at the gym.  Loose, comfortable gym clothing is recommended as well.

Cancellation fees may apply if you cancel before your contract is up.  Depending on how many months are left, the cancellation fee can often be in the $100s.

Many locations, unless specified, will have a one-time initiation fee, usually in the $25 to $50 range.  This fee, however, may be waived during some promotions.

Since all locations are individually owned and operated, you may have to pay an additional $5 to $20 to take a class at another location.

How can I save money?

Discounts are often offered to couples who sign up at the same time at the same facility.

Consider checking out local daily deals websites such as Groupon.  Oftentimes, some local gyms will offer discounts to first-time customers.  We have found deals in the past offering up to 80 percent off if you were to commit to six classes.

As noted above, the longer you sign up for, the more you can save, but be careful:  If you were to sign a long-term deal, high cancellation fees may apply if you were to cancel early.

Some clubs may offer a free trial class to let you test the program.  If you’re on the fence and don’t know if you’re ready to commit, consider looking for a free lesson to see if it is something you’re interested in.
