The Kenwood Country Club, located in Bethesda, Maryland, is a private club that has been in existence since 1928.  Its clubhouse, golf course and all of its amenities cover more than 100 acres along the rolling countryside.

How much does a Kenwood Country Club membership cost?

The cost of a membership, as with most country clubs, will depend on the type of class you sign up for.  With a variety of options available, we broke down the costs of each as indicated on the official application form found here.

Types of memberships

Class “B” – A membership option that offers unrestricted use of the clubhouse, golf course, tennis courts, swimming pools, bowling and fitness center.  The primary member is also able to add their spouse and all children under 21 years old, all of which are offered the same inclusions.

Class “W” – A member in good standing will have restricted use of the golf course on all Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, but will have unrestricted use of the clubhouse, tennis courts, swimming pools, bowling and fitness center.  The primary member is also able to add their spouse and all children under 21 years old, all of which are offered the same inclusions.

Class “ST” – A membership class that offers unrestricted use of the clubhouse, tennis courts, swimming pools, bowling and fitness center.  The primary member is also able to add their spouse and all children under 21 years old, all of which are offered the same inclusions.  Golf is allowed, however, a member will have to pay the associated green fees.

Class “S” –  An option that offers unrestricted use of the clubhouse and its facilities, but will offer restricted use of the golf course, tennis courts, swimming pools, bowling and fitness center.  The primary member is also able to add their spouse and all children under 21 years old, all of which are offered the same inclusions.  If a member wants to partake in any of the amenities aside from the clubhouse, then fees may apply.

Non-Resident – A membership option designed for those who live more than 100 miles away from the club.  Golf, tennis, swimming, bowling and the fitness area are all available to the member, their spouse and minor children upon payment.

Kenwood Country Club membership overview

The club offers an 18-hole, par 70 USGA certified golf course, pro shop, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, an outdoor diving pool, children’s wading pool, 13 Har-Tru tennis courts, two all-weather hard courts, four indoor cushioned hard courts, an eight-lane bowling alley, 35,000 square foot fitness center, heated indoor pool and select spa services.

Dining options include the Terrace Dining Room, Mixed Grille and Sun Room, The Cocktail Lounge, The K Wagon and the Pool Cafe.

Adjacent to the clubhouse is a guest house with 42 rooms with standard amenities.

What are the extra costs?

Green fees may apply for guests and certain member classes.

Private lessons from PGA and LPGA golf professionals are available for a fee.

Weekly clinics, programs, tournaments, and leagues, available for both tennis, bowling, and golf, can be an additional fee to budget for.

Various youth programs and social events held throughout the year can often incur additional costs.

There is a $150 non-refundable application fee.

Tips to know

Upon applying, a prospective member must provide at least three letters of reference, preferably from those who are currently members.
