Kiddie Academy, a nationally networked educational-based childcare service, offers childcare for families and children ranging from six weeks to 12 years old, offering multiple program offerings, including full-time, part-time as well as before- and after-school care.

Known to be “more than just a daycare,” the Kiddie Academy provides days of fun using its key ingredients of their Life Essentials curriculum.

How much does the Kiddie Academy cost?

According to the company’s official FAQ page, the tuition will be set by each individual location, your child’s age and what type of program your child enrolls in (full vs. part-time).  While the official website doesn’t specifically state the prices, we did find parents who were willing to share their costs via third-party websites online.

As an estimate, based on this sample enrollment form, the one-time enrollment/application fees seemed to be in the $150 per child or $250 per family range, whereas the annual non-refundable re-registration was in the same range as well.  Also, at the time of enrollment, a security deposit of about $200 per child was also required and can later be applied to future tuition payments.

For the monthly tuition rates, the costs, again, will depend on your geographical region, the type of program you sign up and your child’s age.  Based on these factors, costs could range anywhere from as little as $400 for a part-time program to as much as $1,200+ for a full-time program.  Remember, these are just averages we sourced from the Internet and should be used as an estimate only.  For exact pricing, we do encourage you to call a local location as they will offer you costs either over the phone or via email in the form of a packet.

On this DCUrbanMom.com forum thread, for example, one parent claimed she paid $1,400 a month for her three-year old’s full-time program, while another said she paid upwards of $1,500 per kid.

One review on this Yelp page noted they were quoted $75 a day for drop-in rates and $180 a week for two days a week, whereas another reviewer on the same thread stated she paid $800 per month for three days a week.

ProgramAverage Monthly Cost (depends on age)

NOTE:  These are averages only and discounts may apply if you enroll more than one sibling.  As each location is franchised-owned, your results will vary.

Additional costs to consider

A late fee of about $30 will be added if the tuition was not paid on time, with the deadline specified in the enrollment packet.

A late pick-up fee of about $5 will be added for every five minutes after the academy closes.

Kiddie Academy curriculum

The curriculum at the Kiddie Academy for younger children focuses on six areas of development:  cognitive, communication, emotional, fine motor, gross motor and social skills   For older children, additional focuses include language arts, literacy mathematics, science as well as gross motor and social skills, social and emotional skills, and character education.  STEM, according to the company’s curriculum page, will be integrated throughout the company’s Life Essentials curriculum plan.

The daycare, at this time, offers the following program offerings:

Tips to know

Not all locations offer certain programs, and the franchise encourages you to check with a local location to see which options are available.

Most locations, as per the FAQ, do offer webcams, allowing parents to check on their child throughout the day.

Since each location is independently owned, be sure to check out the reviews as they do seem to be mixed.  Some locations have stellar ratings, whereas other locations have lower-than-average ratings in comparison to other daycares in the area.
