How much does a Lady Jane haircut cost?

On average, a Lady Jane’s haircut by itself is going to cost $16 to $19 for a basic cut.  If any premium add-ons need to be added, such as a waxing, color or facial hair trim, additional charges will apply.  For example, a color could cost an additional $30.  Every location will vary based on its geographical location.

This AnnArbor.com article said that the Lady Jane’s in Ann Arbor, Michigan, charged $12 for a cut, shampoo and shave.

One member on this Yelp.com review for their Peoria, Arizona location had said he paid $45 for a full treatment package, which included a haircut, neck rub and shampoo, when the tip was included.

Lady Jane’s overview

Unlike traditional haircuts, Lady Jane’s offers a ten-minute scalp and neck massage prior to the cut, followed by a specialized shampoo and conditioner.  The client is treated to a VIP experience that includes a hot steamed towel treatment and more.  Before the haircut begins, customers will be able to lounge in recliners while watching sports on the televisions spread across the building.  As one customer put it: “It’s basically a bar scene without the alcohol.”  Most locations also feature sports memorabilia and pool tables or other games to help pass the time.

Lady Jane’s owner Chad Johnson states that “We set out each day to make the Lady Jane’s experience better for each and every guy.  That’s what sets us apart, that’s what makes us the best- known as it is the ONLY place for guys to get a great haircut in an environment designed specifically for them.”

What are the extra costs?

Aside from a traditional haircut, Lady Jane’s also offers invigorating shampoo options, hair and scalp treatment, colors, highlights and/or a facial hair trim.

Tipping is not included in the prices mentioned above.  Tips, in general, can be any amount, but most stylists will expect at least $3 to $5 for a haircut, perhaps more for coloring or other services.

If you choose to purchase products after your cut, this can be an additional charge you may want to budget for.  The salon offers products like workable wax, thickening shampoo, molding paste, and molding gunk.

Tips to know

Since Lady Jane’s can sometimes can get busy, it is highly advisable that you make reservations ahead of time, especially if you do not want to wait.  Reviews online claim the waits can be long at times.

Be sure to take advantage of the complimentary drinks they offer.

How can I save money?

Like any other place that cuts hair, keep your eyes peeled for any special promotions or coupons.  For example, in the past, they held a free hair cutting event to try and break a world record.  You can also check out Groupon or related deal websites for offers that pop up from time to time.

Some locations have package deals where you can combine various services for a flat rate.

Unless you are looking for the experience mentioned above, there are many haircut franchises in your area that will be a lot cheaper than Lady Jane’s.
