The Santa Ana Country Club, a golf-only private club located in Southern California, was founded in 1901.  Originally known as the Orange County Country Club, today, it stands as the oldest golf club in Orange County and one of the few golf only clubs in Southern California, according to the OC Register.

How much does a Santa Ana Country Club membership cost?

The membership at the Santa Ana Country Club is by invitation only, and the club itself does not reveal information about its initiation fees and membership dues. However, while outdated, a 2001 article at the DailyPilot.com stated that the inanition fees at the club were about $70,000.  However, again, seeing these numbers are an older estimate, members today can expect to pay more than $100,000 to join the club.

Santa Ana Country Club overview

Santa Ana Country Club members is a private equity facility that offers its members year-round use of its golf facilities as well as access to its various amenities including the clubhouse, a restaurant, a bar, and a snack bar. The 18-hole golf course, designed by Ted Robinson, is reserved for the club’s members and their guests only.

Aside from the golf course, additional golf practice facilities include a driving range, a putting green, and a chipping green. The course also has 15 tee stations and features a 1,800 square foot pro shop.

Dining options include the Main Dining Room, Grill Rooms, the Men’s Card Room, and the Mixed Tavern. Members are also provided with their own complimentary lockers. Club members can also host private events at the club such as business meetings, bar or bat mitzvahs, birthday parties, and weddings. The club provides its planning staff to help with the event preparation, from preparing the venue to making arrangements and providing catering services. In addition, members can sponsor event banquets.

What are the extra costs?

Electro-carts are available for use while on the golf course. Members and guests can use the carts for a fee.

Guest green fees will apply.  At the time, from our research, the weekend green fee at the club, according to Golf Digest, is $120 and includes a golf cart.  According to WorldGolf, the price range during weekdays is $75 and $100 during weekends.

Tips to know:

The club requires its members to wear the proper attire specified when on the golf course or in the clubhouse. The club strictly enforces its dress code and will ask members and/or guests to leave the club premises if they violate the code.

Members are required to wear only soft (non-metal) spikes at all times at the golf course.

Children younger 12 years old will only be allowed in the clubhouse if they are accompanied by a member. Non-members who bring children to the club are required to obtain a Guest Card in order to be allowed entry to the clubhouse.

As stated, the Santa Ana Country Club is a members-only facility and guests can use the golf course only when a member is accompanying them.
