The Woodland Country Club, a private member-owned club located in Carmel, Indiana, was the very first private country club in all of Hamilton County.

Originally a public golf course in 1928 owned by golf architect, Bill Diddle, the club, in 1956 signed for the incorporation of the Woodlands Country Club as a private golf course for club members by its 300 charter members.

How much does a Woodlands Country Club membership cost?

The costs of a membership are included in the table below, but use these as an estimate as they came from a third-party source, not the club.  To confirm the costs, call the club for more information in reference to the official membership dues.  In order to become a potential member, however, the application requires sponsorship from a current club member.

The membership options

Class A:  Designed for those 35 years or older with children who are single up to 24 years of age.  This membership option offers complete use of the golf course, swimming pool, tennis courts, access to the clubhouse; and complimentary private room fees.

Class D:  Designed for those between 30 to 34 years old and includes single children up to 24 years of age.  This membership option offers complete use of the golf course, swimming pool, tennis courts, access to the clubhouse; and complimentary private room fees.

Class D Super Junior:  Designed for those younger than 30.  This membership option offers complete use of the golf course, swimming pool, tennis courts, access to the clubhouse; and complimentary private room fees.

Corporate Golf Membership:  This membership option is owned by a company or corporation with a minimum of three, up to five designees, including spouse and children who are single up to 24 years of age.  This membership option offers complete use of the golf course, swimming pool, tennis courts, access to the clubhouse; and complimentary private room fees.

Family Social:  This membership class offers access to the clubhouse, pool, tennis courts and fitness facility. Membership may play up to four rounds of golf with certain restrictions and enjoys complimentary private room fees.

Clubhouse Social:  It allows full use of the clubhouse facilities, social events, activities and optional use of fitness facility. There are no rental fees for use of any of the rooms.

Woodlands Country Club overview

Amenities include its 18-hole 6,614 yards golf course designed by golf course architect, Bill Diddle; it was later on renovated by Peter Dye.  The course offers fairways, greens, scenic water hazards and areas of woodlands, according to the course description.  Other golf amenities include a driving range, practice areas for putting, chipping, pitching and a full-service Pro Shop.

The swim area includes an outdoor Olympic-size swimming pool with its famous slide known as the “Zeus.” The facility has a poolside grill, private shower rooms and dressing rooms. The club has a competitive swim program and swim lessons are available to all members.

The club has two outdoor tennis courts and is lighted during night games. The club offers tennis lessons to members. The facility has affiliations with Carmel Racquet Club, where Woodland members are entitled to a 40% discount off of their racquet club rates.

The fitness center features a private and modern facility with a workout center with various cardio equipment and strength conditioning stations. The center also offers a movement studio with private classes. Woodland has affiliations with Spire Wellness for discounted health and fitness services that include fitness sessions, personal training, and personal golf conditioning and stretching.

The club offers dining options for both casual and fine dining, which include indoor and outdoor facilities. The club has six meeting rooms in different sizes with various views of the landscaped surroundings and golf course. The club offers a Main Dining Room, which is a full-service fine dining venue, overlooking the golf course, a casual venue, Diddel’s Pub, which serves lunch and dinner in a comfortable atmosphere. Many of the club’s private dining and meeting rooms can fit a small group to a large group up to 250 guests. The club hosts weddings, private parties and other social celebrations and events.

The club offers babysitting services and a variety of junior programs which are held throughout the year.

What are the extra costs?

Green fees apply for guests and members with no golfing privileges.  Member pays for guest’s use of amenities outside of golf as well.

Child-care services are considered to be an additional fee.

Lessons, clinics, tournaments, outings, academies and teams can all be an additional fee to budget for.
