According to one member on this Reddit.com thread, for example, he was asking about the club and stated he paid close to $90 a month after committing to a 3-month contract.

What do you get with a membership?

Members do not need to schedule a time to take classes, as per the official website.   Members are encouraged to show up on your schedule as a new circuit will start every three minutes.

All classes, combining both cardio and resistance training, will result in a full-body workout in just 30 minutes.  Each day will be a new workout routine, helping prevent the boredom gym-goers often ensue.  Members will only kick bags, not people, by using the basic moves of kickboxing.

Unlike most gyms, which have all of the bells and whistles, 9Rounds won’t have much aside from the circuit training.  From what we researched, most will have a simple dressing room with no showers and bathroom.  The average facility will be about 1,200 square feet, offering an intimate feel.

Most of the locations will open as early as 6 a.m. and will stay open as late as 6:30 p.m., with a one to three-hour lunch break.  All location hours, however, will greatly vary, so it’s best to either check out Yelp or the official club search to see what your local club hours are.

Personal trainers will always be on site, with the average location staffing one to two people at a time.

New members can try out their first workout for free.  Refer to your local club for more information on ways to take advantage.

During your first workout, the club will allow you to borrow a pair of gloves, but after you decide to join, the club will ask you purchase a pair of 9Round gloves and a pair of hand wraps.

Check before joining as some clubs do offer discounted joining fees from time to time.

The costs of a genuine Mercedes Benz illuminated star will really depend on the dealership/retailer you purchase from and if you need it installed.  For just the part, plan on spending $350 to $425.

If you need it installed, then the costs, according to our calls to a local dealership, will be close to $600 to $1,100 for the labor and the illuminating star.  This will all depend on your local dealership as they will all vary in pricing.

We found one member on this MercedesCLA.org forum thread that said he was quoted $1,140 for labor and parts at his local dealership.  On that same thread, another member replied and stated it was a rip off price as he paid a total of $480 for the star and another $130 for the labor, but after all of the coupons he was able to apply, his grand total was $461 plus tax.

On Amazon.com, for example, a genuine CLA Class illuminated star, a star which only fits the CLA class, retails for about $375, excluding professional installation.

If you want to purchase directly from Mercedes at a local dealership, then you should be prepared to spend about $700 for just the part.

Tips to know

All illuminated stars are not created equal, even if you’re purchasing a genuine part.  Before making a purchase, make sure the star will fit as all parts will have different dimensions.  Any reputable seller will be able to tell you if the part fits by simply providing them with your VIN.  The front-lit star, as of today, is only compatible with the C-, E-, GL-, GLK-, M- and CLS- class.

Mercedes dealerships state the entire install can take up to two hours to install.

The star doesn’t illuminate every time the car runs.  It will only light up when the car unlocks or when a door is opened.  Once the car starts, it will immediately turn off.

From what we researched, there are several packages a professional can offer, and car owners can expect to pay anywhere from $700 to more than $2,000+ for a complete package, which would be designed to protect most of the car’s painted surfaces.  As all installation packages will vary with its inclusions, so will the price.

NOTE:  These are professional prices you should budget for.  Again, as mentioned, do keep in mind that some professionals will combine a majority of these parts and include a packaged discount.  Be sure to ask for any discounts, if available.

A member on this Tesla.com forum thread said he was quoted $1,400 to $1,775 for a full package, and the price would depend on what he wanted covered, while another said he paid less than $1,000 to cover the front part of the hood, front bumper, mirrors, A-pillars, and the rear bumper scuff area.

What exactly is a clear bra?

The term “clear bra” simply refers to the common name for paint protection film or otherwise known as PPF.  This material is a durable, clear urethane film which will help preserve your vehicle’s finish and protect the surface from any oncoming debris and/or weather elements.  This nearly invisible film will be applied to any high-impact paint surface, including the mirrors, bumper, grills, rocker panels, headlight covers, car doors, luggage areas, A-pillars, fender or the hood, for example.

How it’s installed

The preferred method used by most professionals is by what’s known as commercial plotting equipment.  Using this equipment, it is able to precisely plot the film for the installation according to the vehicle’s body.  This plotter will rely on specially designed softer to design and cut the bulk of the film to the exact specifications, allowing for a precise cut.

Facts you should know

On average, even the best paint protective film will last about 10 years.  As mentioned, most of your name branded clear bras will include a warranty which will protect you in case of yellowing, cracking, bubbling and/or peeling.

Most detail sprays, pressure washers, waxes and car washes are safe for the film, but detailers will recommend you avoid using any materials with a high concentration of petroleum distillates.  A pressure washer is okay, but it is best to avoid the edges to prevent them from peeling.

In the future, this clear coating can be removed by using a heat gun or steamer.  It’s recommended you use a professional to help avoid damaging the paint.

The costs of a Classic Car Club membership in Manhattan, New York, all depends on the type of membership you sign up for.  The starting level, a silver level, starts at $5,000 for a down deposit and another $180 a month for the general upkeep fees.  The top-level membership, known as the platinum membership, will cost $15,000 when you sign up and will cost $180 a month like the silver level.  Aside from these fees, members will also need to pay for “points” in case the balance runs low, but the fees mentioned prior will include a set amount of points.  As we get into earlier, you will need points in order to get behind the wheel.

For new members, reports do claim that there is often a waitlist; however, the wait, if there is one, isn’t that long.  As long as you have a clean driving record, a valid driver’s licensed and you’re older than 25 years old, you can apply for a membership and be accepted into the club.

Bloomberg notes a year of driving will cost $9,000, plus dues, for about 35 total days behind the wheel.  All insurance is included, but the club does ask you return the car back with a full tank of gas.

How does the membership work?

The club works on a points-based system, according to the current members, and the amount of in-car drive time you get, will depend on the type of membership you can sign up for.

Once you sign up and you’re approved for a membership, you will be asked to come to the club to discuss of the club’s rules and a general how-to as to how to take care of the cars.

Each time you take the car out for a spin, the insurance will be included, as well as all vehicle maintenance and detailing.

The drive time, as mentioned prior, will be based on the points system, what you want to drive and what type of membership you have.  Each time you take a car out, for example, points will be subtracted from your record, and when your point balance hits zero, you will be asked to top it off to remain active in the system.

The costs of replacing a car’s thermostat will really depend on the mechanic/dealership you choose, your geographical location and the car you drive.  From what we researched, the professional mechanic rate ranges anywhere from $95 to $300. 

Parts, on average, can cost $15 to $40, while labor, seeing it’s often less than a one-hour job, will command the shop’s minimum rate, which is often anywhere from $65 to $100+ per hour, depending on the geographical location.

Parts on AutoZone.com, for example, will cost less than .

YourMechanic.com, according to the mechanics in its system, charges anywhere from $127 to $253, all depending on the type of vehicle.

Car thermostat repair process

Before the thermostat is deemed the only faulty part, a mechanic will first want to inspect the entire cooling system, including the heater hoses, cooling fans and water pump, to make sure the other parts in working order.  At this time, they will also check any engine codes in case your check engine light is on. Often performing a pressure test to determine leaks, a mechanic will recommend new hoses if leaks are suspected or the hoses are in poor working order.  Aside from the pressure test, he or she will also check the engine’s temperature and thermostat’s opening by using a sensor.  If this test indicates a higher-than-average temperature, then the mechanic will inspect for more signs of engine damage, again, to see if the thermostat is more than the problem.

The entire job, for most vehicles, will take about 60 minutes.

Signs of a faulty car thermostat

If a thermostat fails to work, it often remains open, allowing the engine to run cooler than it normally should.  If this were to happen, then your “check engine” light will often illuminate.  However, this isn’t always the case as the check engine light may remain off, but some owners may notice poor gas mileage or a heater which blows cool air.

If the thermostat remains in the closed condition, then this means the coolant will not be signaled to make its way to the engine, effectively causing the engine to overheat.

The costs to repair your car’s headliner will all depend on the professional you choose, where you live and the type of car you drive.  For just the headliner material, a typical four-door sedan will cost about $100, whereas an SUV or minivan will cost about $250.  As for professional installation, it’s best to double this rate, meaning a four-door sedan will cost about $200+ for a new headliner professionally installed or about $500 for a professional to install a new headliner in a larger vehicle or specialty car.  This would include the materials and professional rate.

On Amazon.com, for instance, many of the best sellers sell fabric by the yard, with the average price for the top sellers ranging anywhere from $10 to $45 per yard.  Depending on the vehicle you drive, a standard minivan would need about three yards, whereas a four-door sedan may only need 1.5.

Top selling headliner replacement kits at retail for about $60, but do keep in mind that these kits are designed for those who want to do the job on your own.  Most professionals will not install third-party materials and will ask you to purchase the materials directly from them.

Angie’s List interviewed a professional car upholster, and inside the article, he claimed a replacement headliner for a sedan would cost about $180, while an SUV/van owners should be prepared to pay $350.  As for using his services, he claimed he charged $175 for cars and $200 for SUVs, bringing the grand total to anywhere from $355 to $550.

The extra costs to consider

Hung headliners lead to higher labor rates – In some older cars with “hung” headliners, they are often suspended by rods, which means it’s sewn into the headliner and stitched tight along the outer edges.  What this means is that the front and back windshield, oftentimes, will need to be removed along with the weatherstripping along the windows.  As you can imagine, this can eat up more of the professional’s time, leading to a higher labor price.

Luxury cars may cost more – Some luxury cars, such as a BMW, often need the rear windshield removed to get the entire shell out of the vehicle, according to Textint.com.  Some other brands have liners which are too larger to fit through the doors without bending or damaging it, which, unfortunately, means the prices will be higher than average when compared to a straightforward job.

Cars with a sunroof – Cars with sunroofs will also require more time due to the cleaning and lubrication involved after removing the shell.  A good professional should lube the tracks, drain the hoses and make adjustments before the new headliner is installed.  In some cases, a car with an electric sunroof will need to have it removed in order to remove the car’s entire shell, again, increase the labor time.

Mistakes to avoid

A lot of people online recommend saving the money by spraying fabric paint directly on the headliner to give it a better appearance.  While it may sound like a great idea, it actually isn’t.  Painting it immediately decreases the car’s value and it can often look worse than before you painted it.

Old fabric, as it starts to sag, may be glued back to the ceiling.  At least that’s what you think could be a simple fix.  Unfortunately, re-gluing the headliner will not work because as the headliner starts to deteriorate, the foam and board, which adheres to the headliner will start to “dust” or become crumbly.  If you were to apply glue to this dust, as you can imagine, it will not stick as you would think to the ceiling of the car.

Like gluing, some often think stapling could work in the case of sagging fabric.  Again, this isn’t going to work.  Why?  Even if you use a stronger-than-average stapler, the fabric will still drop, making it look sloppier.  All a stapler is going to do is prevent it from sagging more.

How to replace a car headliner

All screws, bolts and/or clips, depending on the vehicle’s setup, will all be removed in order to remove the headliner board which holds it to the roof.  At this time, any sun visors, clothes hangers, side handles, speakers, dome lights and/or mirrors, again, depending on the setup, will be removed as well.

The headliner, once everything is removed, will now be completely loose and it can be removed by slightly maneuvering it side by side.

After the headliner has been removed, the soundproofing foam will now be accessible, and at this time, a professional will examine to check the condition and consider if it should be replaced.  In some cases, this foam may need to be either replaced in its entirety or reinforced.

With the headliner, once removed, it will be laid out on a flat surface and all of the flaky foam material which was holding it up will now be removed by either using a wire brush or sandpaper.

The new fabric will be laid out on the board and cust to size, leaving extra material around the sides.

Once cut to size, the fabric, an adhesive will be applied to the board and the fabric, while being smoothed out, will be glued.

The edges will then be fixed and the adhesive and glue will be allowed to dry.

How much does Zerorez carpet cleaning cost?

As all locations are independently owned, the costs will greatly depend on the location you choose, the current promotion being held and the size of your home/rooms which need to be cleaned.  Doing our research online, we were able to find multiple people who shared the costs they paid, with the costs being $89 to $119 for three average sized rooms around 200 square feet.  However, depending on the location, some did ask for a minimum spend.  This Southern California location, for instance, states their minimum stands at $179.  Each additional room, after the first three, will be about $50 each.

To budget, we recommend budgeting $125 for the first three rooms since the company always seems to be running a promotion for around this price and another $50 per additional 200 square feet/room. with each additional 100 square feet in the same room running an additional $30.

The company will charge “per room,” with the definition of a room being in the 200 to 250 square foot range, depending on the local franchise policy.  Other areas, such as an area rug, stairs, bathrooms and hallways, will all be priced differently than the room rate.

The Phoenix, Arizona location noted its price, claiming the first three carpeted rooms cost $129, with each additional 250 square foot room costing $43.  Hallways cost $2 per linear foot, while stairs consisting of 16 steps and two landings will cost about $75.

On this Yelp review for the Gilbert, Arizona location, one reviewer said he paid $180 for two rooms plus a deodorizer, while another paid $415 for 3.5 rooms, the tiled kitchen, bathroom and hallways.

On this Las Vegas review, one reviewer stated they paid $160 for three rooms.

The additional costs to be aware of

While optional, the company can add a fabric protector to the carpets after the cleaning process.  This added layer of protection will help the carpet’s ability to resist soiling and staining as the manufacturer’s layer wears down.  Plan on spending an additional $25 per area.

Pet treatment options, in the case of urine odors, can be another additional fee to consider.

How Much Does Urban Air Cost?

Urban Air, an indoor amusement park facility, has multiple locations throughout the United States, each with its own attractions, ranging from wall-to-wall trampolines to trampoline beds.

These family fun parks, spanning more than 25,000 square feet, provide a unique experience for children (and adults) of all ages.

The costs to attend Urban Air will greatly depend on the location, the age of the jumper, how long they are jumping, and the time of the day as some functions can, oftentimes, increase the price.  From what researched, the average price was about $10 to $15 per hour for an “All Access Pass,” but during some promotions, the costs could be much less.  As for parents, the costs at most locations, from what we read, were $5 each to jump.

Aside from the hourly rate, you will also have to pay an additional $2 to $3 for a pair of trampoline-approved socks.

Keep in mind that some facilities may have additional features, which will cost an additional price.  This can include non-trampoline attractions such as the Warrior Course, TUBES playground, ropes course and sky rider to name a few.  Talk to your local location to see if separate tickets are needed to use these attractions.

Attractions vary by location, but here are some of the activity areas you may come across at a location near you:

The Apex – The Apex area allows you to bounce off of the wall with the dozens of trampolines on the floors and the walls the Apex provides.

Climbing Wall – The climbing wall attraction offers the thrill of climbing and taking on new challenges.  With multiple walls available, each unique feature allows you to climb from one to the next.

Dropzone Air Bag – This area allows you to practice any stunts and tricks, where you will land on a supersoft, safe landing zone.

Foam Pit – This gigantic foam pit allows you to perform any trick or flip, all while landing on a padded, cushiony foam balls.

Free Style Open Jump – As the name notates, this open area arena allows you to simply bounce around on the trampolines.

Indoor Playground – The indoor playground attraction, designed for children younger than nine, is designed to offer a diverse playground experience — indoors.

The Runway – Great for either the gymnast or tumbler, the runway allows you to practice for the next competition.

7 & Under Area – As the name proclaims, this jumping area is designed for children younger than seven.

Slam Dunk – Practice any dunk you may have witnessed online, launching yourself from a slam dunk track.

Ultimate Dodgeball – Combining regular dodgeball and trampolines, this creates a unique dodgeball experience.  Pick-up games are held daily at locations and all ages are welcome.

Ultimate Battle Beam – The warrior battle beam allows you to battle friends in the ultimate fitness area, where you can test your strength and balance on the balance beam.

As all locations are franchised owned, the discounts will vary, but from what we saw online, some locations did provide military discounts.

How Much Does a Prospect Park Boathouse Wedding Cost?

Built in 1904, this historic Boathouse sits on the Lullwater, also known as Prospect Park Lake, offering magnificent views of the nearby Lullwater Bridge in Brooklyn, New York.

The rates, as per the official website, will greatly depend on the time and day of the year you wish to rent your wedding.  Any rental will require a $1,000 refundable security bond and another $25 special event permit fee.  Peak rates will apply December 24, 25, 31 and January 1, and catering is an additional fee.

NOTE:  These fees were sourced from the official website and are accurate as of 2018.  Use these as an estimate only and contact the park for more information in regards to exact pricing.  Again, as mentioned, all catering fees will be an additional cost to consider.

As for catering, the costs per head reportedly average $170 a head, but this price will greatly depend on your dinner menu setup, cocktail hour and if an open bar is required.

The NY Daily News notes the facility offers a ceremony-only option for weekend mornings and costs about $750.

The rental fee inclusions

As per the park, the rental fee above includes the outdoor terrace, access to the upper-level balcony overlooking the Lullwater, guest parking, a private bridal changing area, option for either an indoor or outdoor ceremony, onsite security and a one-year supporter membership to the Prospect Park Alliance.

The venue

Ceremonies are commonly held on the wide stone staircase which leads into the building or near the water on the venue’s landscaped grounds.

The Boathouse, a two-story structure, is able to accommodate up to 150 people for a dinner reception on the main floor.  Upstairs, on the second floor, a balcony and dressing room for the bride is available.  The reception offers both an indoor and outdoor space as the stone terrace allows couples to be flexible with their reception.   You can download the floor plan the venue by clicking here.

Facts to know

The venue, as per TheKnot.com, is available to rent, either day or night, from Tuesday through Saturday.  All events will need to end by midnight.

Updated in 2002, the venue is on the Registrar of Historical Landmarks in New York.  Being built in 1905, the Boathouse was one of the first buildings in all of New York City to be declared a historical landmark.

The catering provided by the venue is provided exclusively by The Moveable Feast Catering.  All menu items are unique to the catering company, ranging from over 35+ appetizers for the cocktail hour to a plated or buffet-style dinner setup.  The catering companies able to cater to any request, with past guests noting the brisket, salmon and lamb to be the best choice.  Aside from the cocktail hour and dinner menu, the company can also create a wedding cake, cupcakes and a multitude of other dessert options.  As of 2017, the Gothamist.com stated the caterer disappeared, and at this time, it’s unknown if this is true to this day.

On WeddingWire.com, 10 couples who had their wedding there gave it an average of 4.5 out of 5.0 rating.

How Much Does a Night Guard Cost?

Grinding and/or clenching your teeth can eventually wear down the enamel, leading to gum soreness, cavities and/or cracks in the teeth.

If your dentist suspects you grind and/or clench your teeth more than you should while you’re sleeping, then he or she will often recommend a dental night guard, which is a plastic device designed to soften the impact of the grinding while you’re asleep.

These night guards, depending on your budget, can be purchased over the counter or customized to fit your mouth like a glove.

How much does a dental night guard cost?

The cost of a night guard will greatly depend on if it is customized or not.  An over-the-counter dental night guard, which is basically a one size fits all, will cost less than$20, whereas a customized dental night guard, which your dentist custom orders for you after a fitting, can cost $300 to $600, depending on the types of materials being used.  Keep in mind that from the research we did, there’s a slim chance your dental insurance policy will cover a customized night guard.

SentinelMouthGuards.com, an online night guard retailer, notes you can get your same exact product from an online retailer such as them for a lot less as you do not have to go to your dentist.  They also mentioned that one nine times out of 10, your dental insurance provider will not cover you as insurance companies often refuse to pay for something that is deemed “non-invasive” and pretty inexpensive to make.

What is a night guard?

A night guard is a device which will be placed in the mouth on the top of the teeth to help avoid any grinding and/or clenching, which is known as bruxism in the dental world.  If you grind your teeth, it implies that you’re moving your jaw back and forth, while clenching indicates you’re biting down with excessive pressure for an extended period of time.  This guard, when worn, will act as a protective barrier to help protect your bottom and top teeth.

These guards, also referred to as an occlusal guard or bite splint, is usually made of plastic and will either be designed to be worn on all of your upper teeth or both your upper and lower teeth.  In most cases, however, dentists will only recommend wearing it on your top teeth, but if you were to wear braces, for example, then your dentist may recommend the guard for your bottom teeth only.

The cons of a customized night guard

In most cases, your dental insurance, if you have a policy, will be limited in coverage, often only covering one night guard during the life of your policy.  In reality, it is safe to assume you will need more than one night guard, even if you spend top dollar on a customized one.

A customized mouth guard can take up to two weeks to produce at a lab, meaning you may have to deal with your pain for the time being if it was designed for this situation.

For some, a customized mouth guard, when the dentist is making the impressions, can be painful as you will have to open your mouth wider than you naturally would.

Dental night guard side effects

If a night guard doesn’t fit as planned, it can move around at night, often irritating other areas of the mouth such as digging into your cheeks or could be improperly positioned over the gyms, causing irritation.

A night guard which is made from a gel-like material can often dislodge while you grind your teeth, while guards made from a softer material may not fit as snug when compared to an acrylic material.
