How Much Does Kyleena Cost?

Kyleena, an IUD, is placed inside of the uterus and is used primarily to prevent pregnancies but can help treat heavy bleeding, often caused by a menstrual cycle.

Made by Bayer and part of the same IUD brands as Skyla and Miren, the Kyleena IUD is soft to the touch and is shaped as a flexible T shape.

FDA approved, Kyleena can only be inserted by a healthcare professional.

How much does Kyleena cost?

Since Kylneea has to be inserted via a medical professional, it will have to be done in your local doctor’s office, and as with most IUD insertions, the costs will depend on the doctor you choose and your insurance coverage, if you have a health insurance policy.  Based on these factors, the average cost can range anywhere from $500 to $1,200 without insurance, and this fee would include the doctor exam fee, the insertion and sometimes a follow-up visit after the insertion.

For those with an insurance policy, most insurance providers, including Medicaid, seemed to cover a portion of the IUD, leaving you responsible for any necessary co-pays and deductibles.  To know what your insurer will cover, it’s best to talk with them directly or even check their online pricing database if they have one to see what you may be responsible for.  It can be hard to give an estimate as there as hundreds of policies on the market, each with their own exclusions and costs.

IUD.com noted that since Kyleena is relatively new, the costs can be between $500 to $900.

If you do not have an insurance policy or inadequate cover, the manufacturer of the drug does offer a discount coupon card, which could help you pay nothing out of pocket if you qualify.  The company also offers the Patient Assistance Program, which could help pay for the procedure if you qualify.

Like all IUDs, it will have to be removed in the future as it will become ineffective after five years.  Whether you want a new IUD or are considering getting rid of it, removal fees can range anywhere from $100 to $300, but some doctors may waive the fee if you’re re-inserting another IUD after.

How does Kyleena work?

Kyleena is designed to prevent pregnancies by impeding the sperm, making it harder for the sperm to fertilize the egg.  Containing 19.5 mg of levonorgestrel, which is a progestin caused to thicken the cervical mucus, which in turn, thins out the uterus lining, making it hard for the sperm to survive, will release 17.5 mcg of this hormone daily, and after one year, this rate slows to 9.8 mcg and eventually 7.4 mcg a day, according to VeryWellHealth.com.

After five years, Kyleena will need to be removed and replaced with a new one as long as no complications are present, but it can be removed at any time before this five years, however.

To be effective, the IUD needs to be inserted during the first seven days of the menstrual cycle or immediately after a first-trimester abortion, and as long as it’s inserted during this timeframe, it is deemed to be immediately effective and will not require a backup form of contraception.  However, if inserted outside of this timeframe, then your doctor will highly recommend another contraceptive, such as condoms or a spermicide, for the week after the IUD is inserted as it will take up to seven days for pregnancy protection.

The advantages of Kyleena

The disadvantages of Kyleena

For many women, not just for Kyleena, some have experienced side effects after it has been inserted such as excessive bleeding, dizziness or some pain.  In the case these symptoms don’t subside, then your doctor will more than likely want to remove it and/or explore additional options.  Most of the disadvantages, at least from what we could research, were in regards to the side effects experienced.

BirthControl.com notes Kyleena is not suitable for women with PID or for those who are susceptible to infections.  Also, women with uterine, cervical, breast or progestin-sensitive cancers will not be considered a candidate for the procedure.

Many do experience side effects, but for most, they usually subside a few weeks after insertion.  The most frequently reported side effects include:

• Acne or greasy-like skin
• Breast pain
• Expulsion
• Headaches and/or migraines
• Inflammation/infection of the outer part of the vagina
• Menstrual cycle change during the first few months after insertion
• Ovarian cysts have been reported in 22% of users but most disappeared within one to two months

Knock Sensor Replacement Cost

The knock sensor is able to detect the vibrations, such as hitting a bump in the road, and will then send this information of how large this vibration was back to the engine control module, the onboard computer inside of your car.  With this information, while sensing the frequency of the vibrations, the engine control module can then adjust the timing slightly to help the engine run smoother, or in the case of a larger-than-average vibration, the car will illuminate the check engine light.

Threaded into a hole inside of the engine block, underneath the intake manifold, or the cylinder head, all depending on your car’s setup, when this part isn’t operating as it should, then the engine will begin to knock, or in the case of acceleration, the “check engine” light will illuminate.

Knock sensor replacement cost

The costs of replacing a knock sensor will depend on the car you drive, your geographical region and the mechanic you hire, as with most car repairs.  Based on these factors, the costs to replace a knock sensor professional can range anywhere from $175 to $500.  Labor tends to be in the $125 to $300 range, whereas parts, again, highly dependent upon the car you drive, can range anywhere from $30 to $80+

Tom and Ray, via the Virginian-Pilot, noted the repair should be in the $200 range.

What does the knock sensor do?

Every time vibration is sensed by the knock sensor, generally a bump in the road or when a vehicle door shuts, it will send a signal to your car’s onboard computer, known as the engine control module, reporting how much of a vibration was present.  The onboard computer, which is programmed to expect a specified range, will illuminate the check engine light in the case of a large enough vibration, outside of this specified range.

How is a knock sensor replaced?

To confirm the knock sensor is, indeed, the culprit, your mechanic will first want to scan your car’s computer to read the OBD code, an on-board-diagnostic trouble code that’s able to tell the mechanic exactly what the problem is.  Common codes, according to RepairPal.com, includes P0324, P0325 and P0326.  Aside from this, he or she will also visually inspect the sensor, along with the wiring, to note any associated problems, especially if the electrical connectors or the wiring harness is working properly.

Once confirmed the part is the problem, then the mechanic will unscrew the sensor, unplugging it from the wiring harness, after the car has been raised, and in most cases, there is generally only one electrical connector per knock sensor, but with some designs, there could be another knock sensor located on the engine.   Before attaching the new knock sensor, dielectric grease is applied on the threads for lubrication and the new part is installed, usually with the help of a wrench.

Also, dependent on the engine design, the oil may need to be drained in some cases to change the knock sensor.  In this scenario, the oil filter and an oil change may be recommended as well.

The entire process is pretty straightforward and will take less than 30 minutes to complete.

Tips to know

The most common cause for a knock sensor symptom often relies upon the check engine light illuminating on the dashboard, which will have to be confirmed via an OBD scan.  Other symptoms may include a loud knocking coming from the engine, poor fuel mileage and/or decreased performance when accelerating.  Failing to change the sensor can often cause the engine to run hot and/or burn an excessive amount of fuel.

For most cars, the knock sensor can easily last more than 150,000 miles, but as with any part, this is highly dependent on the car you drive.

How much does a water softener cost from Culligan?

The official Culligan website doesn’t go into detail about pricing; instead, they want you to contact a local Culligan water expert to get started with a free in-home water test via the online form, where a representative will contact you and setup an appoint to discuss the best water softener for your water needs.  Like most competitors, the costs of a Culligan water softener will primarily depend on the series you want, with the premium water softeners, which offer much more in terms of features, as noted below, costing more.

While the website didn’t go into specifics, we did find multiple third-party resources that discussed the prices they paid for their water softener system, and from the looks of it, it appeared most systems install could range anywhere from $2,500 to $5,000+ for a whole home unit installed, with a basic unit often in the $800 to $1,500 range not installed.

Rentals were also available, but the only pricing we could find were certain promotions, which noted the first month would start at $9.95.  After which, the prices would increase to the low hundreds, again, dependent upon the system you wanted to rent.

The extra costs to consider

Water softener salt – If you have a salt-based water system, then you will need to purchase water softener salt in order to make it work as the softener needs to be replenished quite often.  Expect to pay about $5 to $15 per month, a price that depends on how much the salt costs itself and how much your system uses.  On Amazon, for instance, 50-pound bags often retail in the $20 range but this price can be much cheaper at a local retailer due to the shipping costs.

Electricity bills – With newer units, you will not see a great increase in your electricity usage but expect a slight increase, especially for units that work 24/7 to reach full capacity.  The less you use the softener, as with any appliance, the lower your electric bill will be.

Repairs – As with any appliance, repairs are inevitable.   The most common repairs, from what we could see online, often revolved around the flow meter and replacing the resin, for example, with the average service repair in the $125 to $300+ range.

How much does a Kinetico water softener cost?

The official Kinetico website, when we took a glance at it, doesn’t really specify the exact prices; instead, you can compare the current models and look at the costs in the form of a dollar sign, with the “$$$” being the most expensive option, which, at the time of this publishing, was the Premier Series brand.  To get a quote for a particular water softener offered by the company, they would ask you to fill out a form and submit a request, and within 24 hours, the company noted you should receive information from a local Kinetico expert

While the official website didn’t delve on the pricing, we did find multiple third-party sources that shared the costs of the water softeners, and from the looks of it, the average costs for just the Kinetico water softener would range anywhere from $1,900 to $7,100+, depending on the series and add-ons you’re looking to purchase.  Aside from the actual water softener, for instance, the company allows you to “complete your whole home system” by adding a drinking water station, the “dechlorinator” and/or a backwashing filter.

For instance, on this Houzz.com thread, multiple people shared the quotes they received from a local Kinetico dealer, with one person, in particular, saying he was quoted $1,900 for a 2030s dual tank system, while the creator of the thread was quoted $3,950 or about $1,000 less without the reverse osmosis, including installation.  In comparison to quotes from competing brands, such as Culligan and Ecowater, it seemed Kinetico always was near the top, but for some, they noted it was due to the credibility/reliability factor and was worth the price, while others said to highly consider the competitor as the products were quite similar in features.

On PissedConsumer.com, one reviewer noted he paid $3,568 for his 2060 dual tank with an OD water softening system, while another person, on this same review page, stated he paid a similar price as well.

On yet another message board, someone created a thread and noted they were quoted $7,000 for the softener and the reverse osmosis system, which included the tax and the installation, while someone else replied noting he was quoted $2,400 for just the unit if he did the installation on his own.

Where can I purchase one?

All Kinetico water softeners are available directly from authorized retailers that you have to search for on the official website, and unfortunately, you cannot purchase directly from the company itself.  As mentioned, the only way to get an exact price is to request a quote from a local dealer.  While you may be able to find a used one occasionally on eBay and Amazon.com, even if you were to go this route, you risk the chance of a counterfeit, one with faulty parts and/or the chance of not receiving the manufacturer warranty that would originally come with a new purchase.

A non-electric option powered by moving water, equipped with multiple tanks for continuous soft water, even during the regeneration process.  According to the official comparison page, this was the most expensive option; however, it had the highest ratings for hardness levels, capacity rates, and the water flow rate, to name a few.

Kinetico water softener reviews

Someone on Angie’s List stated he owned one for more than 21 years and had nothing but great things to say about his.  In fact, over the 21 years, it only needed one repair and would consider it as the “Mercedes” of the water softener world.  The twin tank, which he had, seemed to be the best option, in comparison to the single unit models due to the unlimited capacity, less salt usage and better water overall.

With multiple locations throughout the United States, we found countless Yelp reviews online, with most of them being in the 3.5 to 4.5 out of 5 range.  From what we did research on a few Yelp pages, people seemed to like the knowledge of the representatives, the customer service (although it would vary on the location), and the difference in taste once the system was installed.  As for the negative reviews, again, highly dependent on the location, was primarily related to the high costs, poor customer service and the future repair service calls/repairs.

On the Houzz thread we mentioned earlier, members to the website discussed their thoughts and many talked highly of their water softener, noting that while it can be on the expensive side, it seemed to always deliver full value.  Others also liked the dual tank feature and the need for no electricity, something competing brands couldn’t offer.

How much does the Kiddie Academy cost?

According to the company’s official FAQ page, the tuition will be set by each individual location, your child’s age and what type of program your child enrolls in (full vs. part-time).  While the official website doesn’t specifically state the prices, we did find parents who were willing to share their costs via third-party websites online.

As an estimate, based on this sample enrollment form, the one-time enrollment/application fees seemed to be in the $150 per child or $250 per family range, whereas the annual non-refundable re-registration was in the same range as well.  Also, at the time of enrollment, a security deposit of about $200 per child was also required and can later be applied to future tuition payments.

For the monthly tuition rates, the costs, again, will depend on your geographical region, the type of program you sign up and your child’s age.  Based on these factors, costs could range anywhere from as little as $400 for a part-time program to as much as $1,200+ for a full-time program.  Remember, these are just averages we sourced from the Internet and should be used as an estimate only.  For exact pricing, we do encourage you to call a local location as they will offer you costs either over the phone or via email in the form of a packet.

On this DCUrbanMom.com forum thread, for example, one parent claimed she paid $1,400 a month for her three-year old’s full-time program, while another said she paid upwards of $1,500 per kid.

One review on this Yelp page noted they were quoted $75 a day for drop-in rates and $180 a week for two days a week, whereas another reviewer on the same thread stated she paid $800 per month for three days a week.

Additional costs to consider

A late fee of about $30 will be added if the tuition was not paid on time, with the deadline specified in the enrollment packet.

How much do Katzkins cost?

On the official website, the company doesn’t specify an exact price since there are so many factors that can affect the price such as the car you drive, the additional options added, the installer you choose and the design you pick out; however, one FAQ did note you should be prepared to pay around $1,500 to $2,220, dependent upon the options you select The company specifically mentions that the installer will determine your final price, but before you commit, they will walk you through everything before you make a financial commitment.

When did our own research, however, we actually found out that the prices were a bit less than what the company quoted, so we would recommend you use that as a high-end estimate if anything.

One forum member on this WranglerForum.com forum thread, for instance, stated the price he paid was anywhere from $1,200 to $1,500 depending on the options, quality, logos and color schemes chosen.  Another member on this same thread stated they were quoted $1,175 at their local dealer.

Another thread started at WranglerForum.com said they paid anywhere from $1,000 for both the install and kit to as little as $300 just for the installation if you already had the kit in hand.

Without any professional installation, we did find multiple sellers on Amazon.com that sold the entire set for about $550.  Granted, this would not include professional installation if you were to need it.  eBay had similar prices as well at the time of this publishing.

What’s included in my purchase?

Aside from the leather interior transformation, the company stands by its product, offering a 3-year, 36,000-mile warranty, whichever comes first.  The warranty, however, will not cover any claims for cuts, scratches, abrasions, excessive wear or in the case of using a silicone-based product and/or chemicals.  Refer to the warranty information to see what may void your warranty.

They also offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee, offering a refund or even replacing your interior in the case you’re not happy with the product.

The company offers a variety of leather materials, including the Premium, Tuscany, Barracuda, Suedezkin, and Synthetics option, each with its own characteristics and looks.  To find out more about each option, you can do so via this FAQ.  The company does note that there are thousands of ways to customize your interior.

According to the company’s FAQ, in order to upgrade your interior, you will first want to use the company’s official design tool or you can call customer service to have them assist you with the process.  With the design tool, it will ask about your vehicle’s make, model, trim, year, and with this information, you can then choose a design based on the pictures provided.  When you find a design option you like, you will click the “choose this design” button, and from there, it will display a list of installers in your area you can contact for a quote.  On this form, you will input your name, email and phone number, and once submitted, you will simply wait for a response.

As for the timeframe, if you’re purchasing directly from the dealer, then it will be delivered with your new car in most cases; however, if you’re upgrading, most authorized dealers will need about two days to complete the transformation.

Is it real leather?

According to the company, they only use premium automotive leathers and synthetics that are designed to meet or exceed the quality of the leather option offered by the car manufacturer.  Since all mid-market cars use leather-trimmed seats, simply meaning only part of the car is covered with leather and the rest is a high-quality synthetic material, the answer, in the end, is no, but this doesn’t reflect the quality as the company more than likely will use a mix of leather and synthetic leather materials depending on your setup.

Jos. A. Bank Tuxedo Rental Cost

At most Jos. A. Bank locations, tuxedo rentals are available for a small fee.

With a large selection of styles and accessories available, Jos. A. Bank asks you visit a local location to view a catalog and get measured free of charge if interested.

How much does a tuxedo rental cost at Jos. A. Bank?

In order to rent a tuxedo from Jos. A. Bank, a deposit will be required to start the reservation process.  For individual rentals, the company will ask for a $20 deposit at the time of booking, while group rentals will require a $40 deposit, with each member of the group paying an additional $20 each.  At this time, the retailer will also ask for a $20 down payment for each tuxedo, with the balance due in full at pickup.  If you do cancel or change your mind in the future, then you will have to forfeit your deposit at this time.

Every tuxedo rental will also include a non-refundable damage and handling fee of $12 each.

As for the actual tuxedo rental costs at Jos. A. Bank, the company does not go into detail as to how much it may cost, but from our research via third-party resources, we found the average tended to be in the $90 to $180 range for a complete package that includes the coat, pants, white laydown collar shirt, black vest, black ties, jewelry and the shoes.  We did find a PDF online that explained the package prices, which we included as a screenshot below for more information.  Do keep in mind that these prices can change at any time, so it’s best to use this as an estimate only.

Additional costs to consider

Rush fee:  According to the company’s FAQ page, there is a $20 rush fee if you needed a tuxedo less than seven days before the event or 14 days before the event in the case of a group booking.

Late fees:  A $20 late fee per day will apply if you do not return the tuxedo on time.  The FAQ does note that you’re able to return the tuxedo to any Jos. A. Bank location.

Damaged return fee:  If returned damaged, dirty or the tuxedo isn’t returned, then you will be charged the full price of the tuxedo.

Changes:  If you change your order in less than seven days before the event, a $20 fee may be applied.

Tips to know

After you place your deposit, the company will then send an email confirmation when your tuxedo is ready for pickup, generally two business days prior to your event day.  In the case of a rush shipment, then the tuxedo will arrive one day prior to the event.

The company recommends you schedule an appointment as soon as you know you’re going to need a tuxedo to make sure the tuxedo will be available and to give the store time to help you avoid any rush fees.  In most cases, the company recommends you contact the retailer at least two months in advance, but again, the sooner the better.

Tuxedo rentals are only available at a certain location; to know for certain which store offers tuxedo rentals, refer to the official store locator tool.

If you expect to wear a tuxedo more than two to three times in the next few years, then it may make sense to buy instead of renting.

All stores will provide a complimentary measurement for free.

How much does catering cost at Jimmy John’s?

The cost of catering, as with any catering order anywhere, will depend on what you want to order and how much you want to order of each.  While the restaurant doesn’t specifically display the prices right on the website, you have to use the ordering feature to browse prices at your local location, which is what we did in order to provide the estimates in the table below:

What does Jimmy John’s offer for catering?

Mini Jimmys: Available in either a 12- or 24-pack, the Mini Jimmys are individually marked and wrapped half sandwich of your choice and are half the size of a regular sandwich.

Party Platters: A third of a regular sandwich size, the party platters come in either a 15- or 30-piece option.  Like Mini Jimmys, you can create your own sandwich, and the company does specifically note in its brochure that some sandwiches may cost more than others.

Box Lunches: The box lunch option includes a choice of sandwich, a bag of chips, cookie, and a pickle spear.

How much does HealthTap cost?

The costs of HealthTap, from what we could see on the official website via the FAQ, noted the prices started at $49 for a virtual consult with a specific doctor or specialist, while HealthTap Prime, the company’s premium service, which offered on-demand service with the next available doctor, would cost $99 a month.  As for the virtual consult, the price could increase from the $49, solely dependent upon the doctor’s experience and their area of expertise.  Vator.tv notes you can add additional family members to the Prime plan for $10 more per month.

The company also offers an “educational text answers” service for free, where you can receive basic answers from doctors who are currently online, but if you wanted more than one answer, a faster response and/or a reply that’s more than 100 characters, you would have to pay $5 for each option.

As for those with health insurance, your insurance company may help pay for your consult.  The FAQ noted that it would first depend on what’s covered under the plan, and to make sure, they recommended you talk with your provider before paying for any virtual consults on the website.  HitConsultant.net, for instance, said Cigna, Humana, United Healthcare and Aetna covered certain forms of virtual care consults.  For certain doctors within the  HealthTap Concierge section, they noted that certain doctors can have automatic eligibility checks, an option where HealthTap will take care of the claims submission.

How does HealthTap work?

To start, the company will ask that you sign up with a free account, simply by adding your email address and then providing some personal information such as your full name, birthday, and gender.  The whole process will take about two minutes to complete in order to access your HealthTap dashboard.

After you complete your personal profile, you are then provided with a variety of options, including “assess your symptoms,” “talk to a doctor,” search library,” “post a question,” and “explore care guide.”  You can also explore your sidebar toolbar, which offers additional options such as changing your settings, viewing care guides, setting notifications, adding family members to your profile, adding nearby doctors to your “care team,” as well as exploring your history if you used the system in the past with a doctor.

To use the system to talk to a doctor for medical help, you can do so in three different ways:  either via a video chat, via text or by asking the doctor community.  In order to reach out to a doctor on a personalized level, however, you will need to first fill out a simple questionnaire, asking questions about your current conditions, the medications you’re on, which part of your body you’re experiencing problems with and a detailed description of your problem.  Based on all of this information, HealthTap will then provide a list of doctors who are willing to help as well as the price that particular professional charges. At this time, you can also research your symptoms via the company’s guides before connecting with a doctor as well.

When you’re ready to talk or text with a doctor, then you click the “Ask Doctors” question to consult with the next available doctor, either in the Prime account, if you’re a Prime member or Concierge account, if you just want to pay once and that’s it.  At the bottom, you will then be presented with either a video call, voice call or text chat option.

HealthTap reviews

On Trustpilot.com, 65 reviewers gave the company a one out of five-star rating, with the high majority of the reviewers talking about the billing practices and the doctor never showing up to talk.  Those who were able to get to a doctor and chatted found it to be frustrating because they were told to go see their local primary care doctor.

Google Play members gave the app a 4 out of 5-star rating, with many saying the opposite of TrustPilot, noting the doctors were quite helpful in a diagnosis, while others shared the same frustrations, saying they never were connected to a doctor or the doctor referred them to a local doctor, making it feel like a waste of money.

With 70+ reviews on , the app received a similar score to the Google Play store, a 4 out of 5-star rating.  Some said it was helpful, even the free portion of the app, whereas the negative reviewers, again, complained about the experience with the doctor and some tech support problems.

Tips to know

Doctors can prescribe medication and send it to your local pharmacy; however, they are not able to prescribe DEA Schedule I-V medications, state-regulated medications, psychiatric medications or lifestyle medications, such as Viagra and birth control, for example.

Aside from HealthTap, other alternatives do exist on the market such as MDLive, Teladoc and Doctor on Demand, for example.  Each program offers its own pricing and features.

How Much Does JDate Cost?

JDate, said the be the Internet’s largest Jewish dating service, was created in 1997 by Spark Networks with the intention to help bring Jewish singles who were looking for either casual dates or long-lasting relationships together.

How much does JDate cost?

In order to see the costs of a membership subscription, the website first asks that you create an online profile, upload pictures and input your geographical information, similar to that of other dating websites.  Once you input all of your information, the company will then present you with the pricing options, with the cost, at the time of this publishing, $59.99 a month, or if you choose the three-month plan, the price was $134.97 or $44.99 a month.  Lastly, a six-month option retailed for $29.99 a month or $179.94 up front.  This price, for new users, can often drop if you’re able to or coupon, for instance.

These prices, like most dating services, are subject to change, so we do encourage you to check out the official website and see the up-to-date pricing.  Keep in mind, however, that you will have to spend up to 10 minutes creating your profile before you’re able to see the pricing figures.  All memberships will renew at the end of the subscription term, so if you plan on canceling, you must do so before your next billing cycle.

While the company does charge a fee to access the premium content, you can create a free account in order to access the basic features such as creating a profile, browsing matches and see personal match suggestions; however, one of the biggest downfalls is that you will not be able to communicate with others and receive other premium features as we get into below.

About me section:  The website offers a blank slate, where you write a short message about yourself, particularly what you enjoy and what you’re looking for in particular.

My Ideal Match:  Within this section of your profile, you will be asked to give your preferences as to what you’re looking for in a future partner such as the age range, relationship status, your education level and so forth.

In My Own Words:  This feature, as a special section of your profile, allows you to write short answers based on the questions the website gives you.  Topics range from your goals and ambitions to the coolest places you visited, for instance.

Kibitz:  This unique feature allows you to answer a random question every day, allowing you to open yourself to other members who answered the question as well.

Color Code Test:  This personality test, which is color-coded, helps match other members as this color, as explained above, will display on your profile.

Flirt:  This button can help you express interest in someone else, allowing them to know that you’re potentially interested.  When they receive this notification, they can then either not respond or send a message from there.

Favorites:  Known as the Hot List, here, you can view the message boards and even send e-Cars to other members.
