How much does a Battery Gardens wedding cost per person?

The costs of a wedding at Battery Gardens will greatly depend on the number of people attending, the time of year, as with any wedding venue, how your menu is customized and the inclusions.  From our research from previous couples, who either were married here or received a quote, were quoted anywhere from $185 to $250+ per person for the catering.  With so many factors involved, it’s hard to offer an exact estimate, but from what we did research, the lowest prices per person seemed to be during the colder months since the outdoor areas would be limited.  This fee will not include the ceremony if you were to choose to get married on site.

For example, on this WeddingBee.com forum thread, one member received multiple quotes from local New York City venues.  With her Battery Gardens quote, she was quoted $185 per person and this quote did not include the cake.  She did mention the venue offered great views of the water, Statue of Liberty and it has a nice outside area for the cocktail hour.

All weddings come with the luxury of private event function rooms with floor to ceiling views offering a view of the Statue of Liberty in the distance and an adjacent outdoor space for mingling and the cocktail hour.  The venue offers a total of two event spaces, with most couples performing their ceremony outside during the warmer months and holding the reception upstairs.

The reception site fees will include the bridal suite, all china, a professional event planner, setup, chairs, clean up, linens and the tables.  The catering cost estimates, as mentioned prior, will include the cake cutting, all food as customized by the menu and professional servers.

The maximum capacity, depending on the setup, can accommodate up to 500 guests, and WeddingWire.com does note the venue asks for a 50 person minimum.

As with any wedding venue, a good venue will be willing to work with your budget as long as it is within reason.  Consider getting married during the offseason or on a day aside from Saturday.  Customizing your dates, venue and inclusions can all decrease the average cost per person.  As indicated via the WeddingBee.com forum thread mentioned prior, one bride was able to receive a competitive deal because she was getting married in February.

On average, the price of heavy cream will depend on the amount purchased, the brand and where it’s purchased.  Most 16-ounce cartons will retail for $3.50 to $7.  Refer to our table below to see what the most popular brands will cost:

According to FineCooking.com, a pint of heavy cream costs 5 to 10 cents more than whipping cream.

Heavy cream overview

Heavy cream has the highest amount of milk fat, which is usually between 36 and 40 percent. Compared with heavy cream, whipping cream has lower butterfat content at 30%. While both heavy cream and whipping cream can be used to make whipped cream, the milk fat content causes significant differences in the results.

When whipping cream is used, the whipped cream produced is lighter, fluffier, and more voluminous since whipping cream doubles in volume when whipped. With heavy cream, the whipped cream will turn out more compact and its consistency holds longer. It also doubles in volume when whipped. Since heavy cream has higher milk fat content, it prevents the whipped cream from transforming back to liquid quickly, allowing it to maintain its texture longer.

Since heavy cream has a higher fat content, it is generally more stable for whipping and for making sauces. Using heavy cream to thicken and enrich a sauce also requires less cooking time.

Some heavy cream brands offer ultra-pasteurized varieties. Ultra-pasteurization refers to a process used to produce dairy products that are 99.9% free from bacteria and also to extend the shelf life of these products.

A heavy cream powder is also available. This powder, which usually contains 72% butterfat, are not designed to replace whipping cream, but it can be mixed with water to create a heavy cream similar to liquid heavy cream. Heavy cream powder is added to products dry or reconstituted with water or other liquids.

To tell if the heavy cream is bad, you will want to look for lumps and take note of its smell.  Heavy cream, when it goes bad, will have a sour-like scent.

Substitutions for heavy cream

A fat-free half-and-half is healthier and has fewer calories and fat.  It will also create a fluffy topping while being whipped.

If heavy cream will be used for the top of a pie, for instance, you could mix 1 percent milk with a stick blender or a milk frother.

A combination of milk and butter.  To create this substitute, melt 1/3 cup of unsalted butter, and then mix 3/4 cup milk and 1 tablespoon of flour in a bowl.

Greek yogurt is a healthier alternative and is much thicker than a traditional yogurt.

Mixing skim milk and cornstarch can create a similar mixture.  To do this, use one cup of milk and add two tablespoons of cornstarch to the mixture.

For vegetarians, blending tofu and unflavored soy milk can create a smooth mixture.

Mixing equal amounts of cottage cheese and non-fat milk power can create a low-calorie substitute.

Adding vanilla to chilled evaporated milk can be used as heavy cream commonly found in soups.

A low-fat cream cheese can provide the same consistency.  If you use cream cheese, use half the amount of heavy cream recommended in the recipe.

How much does a hamster cost at PetSmart?

PetSmart offers a variety of hamster options and the price will depend on the type you’re looking to purchase and if any promotions are currently being held.  Noted below are the most common options available at local Petsmart stores along with the “average” price.

What are the extra costs?

Buying a hamster is more than just purchasing the animal.  You will also have to factor in costs such as buying the cage,($30 to $70), along with a water bottle ($5), chew sticks ($5), bedding material ($5), toys ($5 to $10) and an exercise wheel ($5) for entertainment.  When purchasing a cage, consider the size, and always try to purchase a cage that is labeled for a hamster.  If you purchase a cage that isn’t designed for one, they may be able to escape.

As for recurring costs, bedding and food will have to be purchased weekly or monthly, depending on the amount you purchase at once.  Plan on spending upwards of $25 per month to care for your hamster.

The hamster varieties offered at PetSmart, as indicated in the table above, include the long- and short-haired hamsters, winter white hamsters, Russian and Chinese dwarf hamsters, Robo dwarf hamsters, and fancy bear hamsters.  The dwarf hamster, which tends to be the most common hamster sold at Petsmart, are slightly smaller than a Syrian hamster and will eat less food.  They also tend to be more social and prefer to live in family groups.  The varieties offered at your local PetSmart will vary depending on a few factors such as your location and the time of year.  The availability of some pet hamster varieties is seasonal.

Hamsters, as well as other pets purchased at PetSmart, are among the company’s Vet Assured program, which is designed by PetSmart veterinarians to aid in the improvement of pet health and welfare. With the Vet Assured program, vendors are obliged to agree to meet specific standards for caring and observing pets for typical illnesses. The program also ensures that animals receive adequate in-store pet care through explicit standards that vendors are required to comply with.

In the event that a pet bought at PetSmart becomes ill during the initial 14-day period, the pet store will replace or refund the purchase price. Customers who are unsatisfied with their purchases can also have their animal replaced or their payment refunded.

Hamsters are normally affordable pets, but the costs associated with supplies can add up quickly. When it comes to food and other supplies, purchase them in multiple quantities. Bulk buying often results in significant discounts than when purchasing items in small quantities.

Instead of buying commercial litter and bedding, substitute it with newspaper or plain toilet paper. A homemade obstacle course can also be created using old toilet paper rolls.

How Much Does the Roomba Vacuum Cost?

Roomba is a brand of robotic vacuum cleaners that have grown in popularity ever since their introduction in 2002.

Sold by iRobot, this series of autonomous robotic cleaning devices feature a full suite of sensors that enable seamless cleaning of clutter in any room, including spaces under the furniture.

The cost of a Roomba vacuum depends on the model, features and capabilities.

How much does a Roomba cost?

On average, the cost of a Roomba will depend on the model, its condition and which retailer you purchase one from.  The costs will range anywhere from as little as $350 for an older series to as much as $1,000 for a newer model.

At the iRobot istore , for example, the newer units retail for $375 to $900.  For example, the Roomba 650 retails for $375, while the 980 retails for $900.

Roomba is made with a set of basic sensors that allow it to perform its tasks and a pair of wheels that work independently and enable 360° rotations in place. Other tasks are performed by means of an embedded computer that works together with the Roomba Open Interface.

Roomba units are in the shape of a disc, measuring 13cm in diameter and 9cm in height. On the front half of the unit is a big contact-sensing mechanical bumper while on the top front center is an omnidirectional infrared sensor. Most of these robotic units are fitted with a recessed carrying handle.

All Roomba models come with a pair of brushes that rotate in opposite directions when in operation.

The Roomba vacuum runs on a removable NiMH battery that requires regular charging from a wall power adapter or through a self-charging home base. To use, the unit is carried into the room to be vacuumed and the clean mode button is typically pressed. Operating modes include clean mode, spot mode, max mode, and dock mode, depending on the model.

Roomba vacuum cleaning robots come in a wide array of models and series, including the Original, 400 and Discovery, Professional and 500, 600,700, 800, and 900 series.

Some Roomba models come with a feature called the AeroForce Cleaning System with Carpet Boost technology that enables superior cleaning power, especially on rugs and carpets. Some newer.

Roomba models are built with an iRobot HOME app that allows users to set cleaning preferences from their smartphone, as well as an iAdapt 2.0 Navigation with Visual Localization system that expertly guides the robot around the room.

Models are built to clean all floor types, including carpet, tile, hardwood and laminate.

What are the extra costs?

Different Roomba models require different parts and accessories.  Side brushes, which wear off over time, will need to be purchased occasionally.  These brushes can cost about $15 to $20 for a three pack.  The same can be said with the filter.  Just like your typical vacuum cleaner, these filters will cost about $25 to $35 for a three pack.

A new battery may be required after every few hundred times.  According to av8n.com, a battery will fail, even when one or two cells die.  Plan on spending around $125 for a new battery.

As for electricity, TreeHugger.com notes it will cost about $0.13 to run it every other day or $4.08 per year if it were charged and plugged in 24/7.

When selecting accessories at the manufacturer website, you will first need to provide your unit’s series in order for you to find the accessories compatible with your vacuum cleaning robot.

The cost of Walmart deli chicken will greatly depend on the amount you need.  On average, the costs can range from as little as $7 for an eight-piece meal to as much as $55 for a 100 piece pack of fried chicken only.

How Much Does the TPC Valencia Cost?

The TPC Valencia, one of the few golf clubs that make up the TPC Network, is located at the heart of the Santa Clarita Valley in Stevenson Ranch, California.

The course was designed by Chris Gray in consultation with Mark O’Meara, opening its doors in 2003.

How much does a TPC Valencia membership cost?

The membership costs at the TPC Valencia, just like most of the country clubs out there, will vary depending on the type of membership you want to sign up for. The initiation fees, from what we researched, are going to range anywhere from $25,000 for a junior membership to $65,000 for a corporate membership.  As for the monthly membership fees, it can range anywhere from $380 a month for junior members to $485 a month for corporate members.  These fees, however, are estimates and cannot be guaranteed.  If you are interested in joining, we highly recommend contacting the club for exact costs.

Back in 2013, for instance, this press release stated the club offered family memberships starting at $10,000.  At that time, members could join with zero down and pay no dues for three months.

The membership options

Family – The family membership comes with unlimited access to the club with access to the nationwide TPC network.   This membership is open to all family members.

Junior – A junior membership is available to individuals younger than 34 years old and offers the inclusions as a Family membership.

Social – The social membership allows access to a selective range of club amenities and won’t include golf privileges.

Corporate – The corporate membership is designed for business entities that may host clients or engage in team building as well as access to the TPC network around the country.

TPC Valencia overview

How Much Does the San Gabriel Country Club Cost?

This century-old golf club, located on the land of the San Gabriel mission, was originally started in 1904 as a nine-hole golf course with sand oiled greens. In 1912, it was then extended to an 18-hole golf course with the help of the golfer architect, Norman Macbeth.  Later on, over the years, many changes were made in different phases by William Watson, William Park Bell, Robert Trent Jones Sr and Robert Trent Jones Jr.

Today, it is the oldest 18-hole golf club in Southern California.

How much does a San Gabriel Country Club membership cost?

This club offers five types of memberships, as we explain below, with different fee structures and initiation fees.  The initiation dues, from our research via third-party sources, are said to be in the low five figures and monthly dues will depend on the membership.  Most are north of $300+ per month.

The membership options

Regular Membership – This membership option is designed for the members older than 21 years old.  Members are allowed to access all the club facilities, including the golf course. They have rights to vote in the meeting of the club and is considered an equity membership.

Junior Membership – This membership is designed for members between the ages of 21 to 34. The initiation fee for this membership varies depending on the age category and can be paid in five annual installments.  Members are allowed to access all the club facilities, including the golf course. This membership class will have no voting rights and is not an equity membership.

Associate Membership – This membership option is designed for members between 35 to 44 years old. The initiation fee for this membership, like the Junior option, varies depending on the age category and can be paid in five annual installments.  Members are allowed to access all the club facilities, including the golf course. This membership class will have no voting rights and is not an equity membership.

Social Membership – Designed for members older than 21, this membership option includes all amenities, with the exception the golf course. Social members may golf once in a month when paying a fee.

National Membership – This is membership is designed for those who reside at least 150 miles away from the club.  With this membership, members can bring their guests with a nominal guest fee.  This is an invitation-only membership with the club’s discretion.

How Much Does the CordeValle Golf Club Cost?

The CordeValle Golf Club, located in San Martin, California, is invitation-only golf, social, tennis and executive club.

Deriving its name from the Spanish phrase “el corazón del valle,” which means the “heart of the valley,” this resort is nestled in the valley, surrounded by the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Just a half hour away from San Jose and a few miles west of Highway 101, it is considered as a rare treat by those who had the honor of playing it.

How much does a CordeValle Golf Club membership cost?

The costs, as with any country/golf club, will depend on the type of membership you apply for.  Initiation fees for a corporation are said to be in the $1 million range, while single executive memberships are said to be in the $250,000 range.  Annual dues for a family plan are around $29,000 ($2,400/month), while corporate plans are around $39,000 ($3,250/month).  These fees are estimates which came from third-party sources and cannot be guaranteed.  For more information, refer to the club for exact membership costs.

Tips to know

Proper golf attire while on the course, according to the club, consists of slacks, Bermuda shorts, capris or skorts. For men, collared golf shirts are required and must be tucked in unless they are square-cut button downs. Hats must be presentable and must not be frayed or worn backward. Denim is not allowed nor is baggy or loose clothing. Proper golf footwear is mandatory both on the greens and the driving range.  To learn more about club attire, refer to the club’s official club attire page.  Also, the use of cell phones on the golf course, clubhouse or pool area must be inaudible. In the clubhouse, talking on cell phones is prohibited. These rules are strictly enforced by club staff members.
