One member on this Drugs.com thread stated his local hospital charged his wife $6,600 for three injections.

What is Supartz?

Supartz is a natural chemical of highly purified Sodium Hyaluronate, which comes from rooster combs.  Classified as a medicine referred to as visco supplements, hyaluronate, a natural chemical found in the body, is present in high amounts around the joint tissues and within the fluid which fills the joints.  The body’s own hyaluronate, in essence, acts similar to lubricant and shock absorber, helping the joint work properly.

The cost of Orthovisc injections will greatly depend on the pharmacy/physician you choose and your insurance policy, but from we noticed, most insurance companies will not cover these injections, including Medicare at this time.  But, don’t let this discourage you as we did find people online who were able to use their insurance to cover the injections.  From our research, it appears the cost of three two-milliliter syringes will range average about $550 to $1,300 out of pocket.

On GoodRX.com, for example, they compared the costs of this injection from the most popular pharmacies, such as Walmart, CVS, Walgreens and Kroger, and the costs seemed to be the same, around $1,330, regardless of which pharmacy you used.

MDSave.com, via some of its providers listed at the time of this publishing, had prices as low as $550.

The costs of injections will depend on the doctor injecting it and the type of health insurance policy you have.  According to the manufacturer of the drug, Synvisc-One®, Medicare and most health insurance plans will cover the injections, and essentially, you will only be responsible for your co-pays and/or deductibles.  The manufacturer did create a tool to help you determine if your health insurance company will cover the injections.

From those who did have to pay for the injection, whether they had insurance or not, the costs were in the $400 to $1,000 per injection average.  Granted, this price could be much lower, again, if you were to use your health insurance provider.  Even if you paid cash, many providers are willing to offer a discount and/or financing plan if you couldn’t pay the bill in full.

On the comments section for this injection on Drugs.com, multiple people talked about the prices they paid.  One member, who gave the injection, gave it one star and said it was $2,000 for the injection, but Medicare paid for it, and there was no improvement in her pain, according to her review.  Another member stated they were quoted $1,000 a shot and felt no relief from the injections, either.

The providers on MDSave.com quoted close to $750 per knee injection.

How it’s used

As it can only be prescribed by a doctor, these injections will always be done in the doctor’s office by either a trained health professional, such as an orthopedic surgeon or rheumatologist, or a nurse.

What is a pier and beam foundation?

The costs of creating a permanent foundation for your mobile home will greatly vary on so many factors, including the type of foundation, your soil conditions, your geographical location, the home’s condition, the contractor you choose and if any obstacles are foreseen.  The biggest culprit, often being the soil, will determine the frost penetration depth, which will determine what kind of foundation is needed and the depth.

The extra costs you need to think about

Planning and permits – Laying a foundation will always require a plan, and all mobile home owners will need to abide by the local building codes, meaning you will need inspections from the city and permits as the foundation is being poured and once it’s complete.  The average costs of the permits will greatly depend on your geographical location and size of the job, but HomeAdvisor.com recommends budgeting $0.89 a square foot.

The costs of leveling a mobile home will vary depending on the contractor you hire, how it’s currently tied down to the foundation, the size of the mobile home, your geographical location and the issue at hand.  From our research, for a simple mobile home leveling, it’s best to budget anywhere from $350 to $800 if hiring a professional.  Since a lot of jobs can vary across the nation, we highly recommend you use HomeAdvisor.com to receive multiple quotes from local contractors for free.  Here, you simply describe your job and licensed contractors will contact you with a free estimate/quote.

Talking with a contractor, we were given the following advice and price range:

If you are on a slab and there are no signs of any cracks or breakage, then the costs will be minimal.Around $350
If the home is either on concrete or gravel and the mobile home is significantly unlevel (you can feel it), then the costs can be higher than above.Around $550

On this MobileHomeUniversity.com forum thread, a member asked if $450 to $700 per unit, plus materials was a fair price.  In turn, multiple members replied claiming the prices seemed fair and do not seem high; however, the foundation is either unsettled and/or wet, it could lead to a continuing problem, which would mean more time invested for the contractor.  Others mentioned that as long as you’re either on rock or concrete and the ground doesn’t move, then relevel will never be necessary.

The process of releveling a mobile home

To start, the contractor will first remove the skirting, if installed, from the mobile home to gain access to the piers which supports the home.

Starting in the middle of the home, the contractor will use a level to check each pier to see how level the area is.  Any piers which are unlevel will be marked.

After all of the piers have been visually inspected and checked with a level, a mobile home jack will be centered beneath a pier to support the weight of the home.

The I-beam will then be raised to the level of a water level mark by using a water level, and the home will be checked once again to ensure the entire home is level.

The average job, from start to finish, for a basic job, should take about three hours to finish, and in most cases, it will require at least three people on the job site.

What causes a mobile home to tilt?
