How much does the Brookhaven Retreat cost?

The official website of the retreat, BrookhavenRetreat.com, doesn’t note the pricing structure, like most retreat centers; instead, they ask you either call them directly at 888.919.6050 or e-mail them directly for more information.  They are said to be available 24/7.

As for health insurance coverage, since they are a private treatment center, they do not accept any type of insurance.

While the official company doesn’t list the pricing, we did find multiple people, which we share in the table below, who shared their experiences and the costs they paid on third-party websites, but as we always mention, these prices come from third-party sources and cannot be deemed accurate.  For accurate pricing information for your particular circumstances, it’s highly advisable you contact the retreat center for a fast and confidential response.

Collecting the data from multiple websites, it appears the program is in the $49,000 a month range, with the retreat center offering 30, 60 and 90-day programs, with the length dependent upon the patient’s individual circumstances.

How Much Does Linzess Cost?

Linzess, used to treat irritable bowel syndrome with constipation as the main problem, can also be used for chronic constipation relief, and is available with a prescription only.   It works by increasing the secretion of chloride and water within the intestines, which allows your stool to soften to help promote bowel movements.

At the time of this publishing, no generic equivalent is available.

How much does Linzess cost?

The costs of Linzess, based on the pharmacies we talked to, would depend on the dosage, quantity prescribed, your health insurance and the pharmacy you fill your prescription, but from our own personal research, the dosage didn’t matter as each dosage with the same quantity count was in the same price range.  With a few factors to consider, just like any prescription, the costs can vary, especially if you have insurance.  However, for those with insurance, here are the cost averages we received from local pharmacies if we had no insurance coverage:

DosagePrice
72 MCG- 30 capsules: $450
- 60 capsules: $900
- 90 capsules: $1,350
145 MCG- 30 capsules: $450
- 60 capsules: $900
- 90 capsules: $1,350
290 MCG- 30 capsules: $450
- 60 capsules: $900
- 90 capsules: $1,350

How did we get these prices?  We searched the Costco drug directory and called Walmart, Sam’s Club, Walgreens and CVS to come up with average.  Remember, these are the prices if you do not have health insurance and/or take advantage of some of the savings opportunities as we mention below.

For insurance purposes, GoodRX stated 97% of Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage Plans do cover this drug and the same can be said about private insurance carriers as well.  However, to make certain your insurance company will cover this medication, be sure to talk with your insurance carrier directly to see what your costs would be with your plan.

How to save on Linzess

Manufacturer Coupon

The official manufacturer of the drug, Actavis, offers the Linzess Instant Savings Program, which is a savings program designed to help you pay as little as $30 per 30, 60 or 90-day supply as long as you qualify.  According to the fine print, it’s available to commercially insured patients only, and to see if you do qualify, you are asked to register for a savings card via the official website.  If you do, you are then able to present this coupon at your local pharmacy to maximize your savings.

Assistance Program

Allergan offers the Allergan U.S. Patient Assistance Program for patients who meet certain qualifications such as a valid prescription, proof of income, and a copy of your LIS denial letter.  For this assistance program, if you were to qualify, you could have your medication shipped to either your doctor or pharmacy every 90 days for $0 as long as you’re approved.  For more information on this program, you can visit the official assistance program website or call 1-800-851-0758.

Third-party Coupons

Popular third-party coupon websites, such as Drugs.com and GoodRX.com, can help you save simply by printing a coupon on their website.  Available to anyone with a valid prescription, the process is relatively simple:  search for your drug, pick out your quantity and dosage, followed by the pharmacy of choice, and next to the pharmacy name, you will select the coupon link if you’re happy with the price listed on the website.  Granted, if you do use a third-party option, you will not be able to combine it with your own private insurance coverage, but even if you have a private health insurance carrier, it doesn’t hurt to check out these websites to see if you can save more than what your private insurance carrier can.

Longer Supply

If you know you will need this medication for more than 30 days, be sure to ask your doctor if he or she will prescribe you for a 90-day supply as this can drop the capsule price.

Linzess side effects

As per MedicineNet.com, common side effects noted include diarrhea, stomach pain, gas and/or stomach distention, while other important side effects can include headaches, fatigue, respiratory infections, sinusitis and/or stomach/viral infections.  Always report any unwanted side effects to your doctor and/or pharmacist.

Lindora Diet Plan Cost

Founded in 1971, Lindora, for more than 45+ years, has been helping people lose weights and live healthier lives because of it, according to the company’s “About Us” page.

Rooted in science, Lindora claims to offer a new approach to thinking about how you eat and the way you live, helping you keep the weight off by following the core principals of their foundation:  eat better, move more and stress less.

To date, the company operates more than 35 clinic locations in the Southern California area.

How much does the Lindora diet plan cost?

The costs of the Lindora diet plan, according to the official website, will greatly depend on which plan you choose.  As of this publishing, the company offered three program options:  the Wellness program, which retailed for $1.61 a day, the Wellness Plus program, which retailed for $3.53 a day, and lastly, the Wellness Unlimited program, which retailed for $5.31 per day.  Next to each these price tags, however, there was an asterisks mark, which noted this price was based on a 12-month commitment and would not include the Lindora food, supplements or other services that may be required for the program.

As for as we could see, the price of the products, if considered, would greatly depend on which product you purchase, but the reviews we read online stated the bars, shake mixes or drinks would retail for about $15 to $20 a box, with seven packages, on average, inside.  You can see the official prices for the protein bars, drinks, shakes, protein snacks, meals, supplements and tools on the official store’s website.

All in all, just to start the program for just the membership plan, the prices could range from $587 to $1,938, and again, this would not include the food, supplements and other services required to see results.  Following the programs meal plans and B12 shots, the price could easily double or triple.  A press release on Businesswire.com did note a one-time activation fee around $99 to $149 could apply as well.  Keep in mind that only Southern California residents, at this time, are able to take advantage of clinic visits.

A that was no longer active stated a six-week program was valued at $633, a four-week program was valued at $503 and the ten-week program was valued at $893.  At the time, the value of these programs would include two weekly check-ins, lab work, an initial health assessment and exam, and a Lean for Life workbook.  Again, this appeared to be active for those in the Southern California area and out-of-town members would pay more.

As for health insurance coverage, the company did note that the cost of some medically-supervised programs may be covered, but it will be dependent upon your individual policy, meaning you will simply want to check with your insurance company to see if your coverage covers a program such as this.  The company did note they have partnered with some insurance groups, such as Blue Cross, that can offer discounts on the programs as long as deemed eligible.  They noted you could either call 1-800-Lindora or your insurance carrier for more information to see if you could save.

Aside from the health insurance coverage, the company also noted, aside from checking your health insurance, to contact your employer as well as to see if any employer wellness benefit plan discounts could apply.  Worker’s compensation, as well, may typically pay for some, or all, of the Lindora program, greatly dependent upon the injury noted.

While the official website noted the average daily rate, it did not include the full picture as most will have to purchase supplements and the meal plans to see desirable results.  On this Yelp review for the Glendale, California location, one person said they paid close to $700 to sign up, while another was quoted $1,000 to sign up, a price that included the lab testing, a book and the entire six-week program, which you would have to check in with daily.

How the Lindora program works

According to the company, their approach, rooted in science, will help you think about the way you eat — and how you live, helping you lose weight, all while not just counting calories.  Founded upon these core principles — eat better, move more and stress less, Lindora believes this approach, with each core principle, will help reprogram your mind, how exercise impacts your moods and cravings, as well as how stress can impact your weight and daily quality of life.

The easy-to-follow program, as per the company, requires no points system, no potions, no group meetings or surgery as the entire program will teach you how to optimize your body’s ability to help lose weight rapidly and keep it off forever.  The uniquely crafted plan can help your body burn fat instead of storing it as part of the company’s ketogenic eating plan, allowing you to eat whole, healthy foods that you are going to “love.”  While the company doesn’t delve into precise details, you can request a free consultation on the official website for more information.

The official website only notes the basics, but browsing at countless reviews, it appeared the clinics would work like this:  they would help create a meal plan, consisting of a protein, vegetables and fruit ratio in terms of the grams of food, preventing you from eating a certain amount each day.  The program also asks you to work out 45 minutes a week and check into your local clinic at least five times a week, where they will log your weight and help motivate you and check your food journal, according to Laura Lohr.  During this time, it appears you would receive a B12 shot as well.  This was a summary via reviews if you were to choose a clinic and your results could vary depending on which option you picked out and the location you used.

It appears once the program is over, there’s an eight-week maintenance program that helps you transition into a healthy eating stage that you can maintain your weight loss.

How much does the Lindamood Bell tutoring program cost?

The official website of the Lindamood-Bell Learning Center states the hourly instruction fees vary from center to center, according to the official FAQ, also noting the prices are often comparable to similar professional academic services.  The major difference, however, in comparison to other centers is that Lindamood-Bell centers see students for up to 30 sessions five days a week over a several week period, while other centers commonly schedule one to two sessions per week over many months.  Also, according to the FAQ, the instruction that’s appropriate for your child can affect the price as well, seeing there are multiple options that can work with your situation.

While the official website didn’t note the exact prices, we did find a few third-party websites that had people from the past who used the services, and according to the responses, the prices could range about $95 to $115 an hour/session or about $2,100~ a week, with a commitment of about 20 hours a week and 12 weeks in today, based on the company’s strategy.  In total, be prepared to budget more than $20,000+ to complete the entire program based on the reviews we read.

If you want to consider the center, then they do offer one-time evaluations, which are said to be around $300, but this could be more or less depending on the current promotion being held.

One reviewer for the Walnut Creek, California location on Yelp, for instance, was quoted $109 an hour or about $2,000 a week if her child went to the center five times a week for four hours a day.  This review, at the time of the publishing, was beneath the “reviews not currently recommended.”

According to EducationUpdate.com, the first-class instruction does not come cheap, as per Alberto Luzárraga and Lisa Chen, noting that each program, which runs four hours a day for six weeks, costs approximately $2,340 per week — about $112 per hour.

Adhd-bipolar-and-beyond.com, via their review, said they paid $20,000 for 12 weeks of instruction and took out a 15-year loan via Sallie Mae that would cost about $300 a month to pay off.

Programs offered

The Lindamood-Bell uses programs, authored by their co-founders, all greatly focusing on sensory-cognitive processing necessary for reading and comprehension rather than focusing on content instruction.  The company claims to be the only official provider endorsed by the authors of the following programs:

Seeing Stars

Teaches beginner readers basic constant and vowel sounds, then progressing into prefixes, syllables and suffixes, allowing the reader to learn up to 1,000 sight words.

Visualizing and Verbalizing

A program which allows students to use imagery to help improve their comprehension and critical thinking.  The process starts with the word imagery, progressing into sentence imagery and finally paragraph imagery.

Talkies

A step above the Visualizing and Verbalizing program, additional exercises are included to help link images to words as well as build their vocabulary.

LiPS

The LiPS program was designed to help teach phonemic awareness, helping students feeling the characteristics of the lips, mouth and tongue that are associated with different phoneme sounds.

On Cloud Nine Math

A math program teaching students the fundamentals of addition, subtraction and multiplication using numbers up to 100.  Like the other programs, the program exclusively uses imagery in the teaching process.

Lindamood-bell learning processes – how does it work?

As per the company’s timeline, it all starts with an evaluation, which is a two to four-hour evaluation, either taken online or in person, and it designed to correctly evaluate and assess the individual strengths and weaknesses in comprehensive, match and reading.  Learning skills measured include sounding out words, word reading, reading comprehension, spelling, vocabulary and math, to name a few.  After this evaluation completes, the company will then specifically explain each test and then recommend a learning path of instruction.  Noted above, the learning center offers a variety of programs to help tackle your child’s weaknesses.

As for the instruction, according to both the official website and third-party reviews, each session will involve one-on-one sessions, four hours a day, for a total of 12 weeks, with each session being “fast-paced, engaging and full of learning.”   With each session, students will receive a new clinician and lessons plans are changed throughout the week to focus on the student’s progress, all while the center provides feedback along the way.  Dependent upon your child’s needs, the initial evaluation will first determine what program your child will work best in.  The review on adhd-bipolar-and-beyond.com, for example, stated their son was mostly in the Seeing Stars program, with some visualizing and verbalizing toward the end of the program.

Upon completion, the center will be able to provide lifetime support for both the parents and children.

To learn more about the program more in depth, we encourage you to read this Readingrockets.org overview and visit the official website.

Lightbridge Academy Tuition Cost

The Lightbridge Academy, formerly known as the Rainbow Academy, is an early childcare education daycare and development center that offers programs for infants to Kindergarten-aged children as well as summer camps for older children.

Established in 1997 with locations in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, these franchised-owned centers create a genuine, caring relationship with every family member, ensuring the education success as well as the well-being of your child.

How much does the Lightbridge Academy cost?

Via the official website of the Lightbridge Academy, they didn’t post the prices, but instead, they asked that you contacted the nearest location to schedule a tour for more information in regards to program offerings and pricing.   Many of the reviews we read online stated you must take a tour of the facility in order to receive a pricing sheet.

And while the Academy did not post the prices, we did find multiple third-party reviews and some news articles that discussed the prices they paid.  Like most daycare centers, the costs primarily depend on the age of your child, the program you sign up for, how long you need the services and the location you choose as each location is independently owned by a franchisee.  With these factors in mind, the costs seemed to range anywhere from $1,200 to $1,500 a month for a full-time program.

We did find one article via the New York Daily News, where a mother said she paid $2,500 a month for both of her boys, which was considered to be $400 a month more than comparable daycare centers in the area.

Care.com estimates $279 a week based on the average rates of daycare centers in the area.

Curriculum

According to the center’s official website, the centers use some of the “greatest minds” in childhood education such as Fredrich Fröbel, Howard Gardner, Loris Malaguzzi, Maria Montessori and Jean Piaget, to name a few, bringing all of these minds together to create a curriculum that’s able to impact a child in multiple ways.

All of the program’s lesson plans are built upon the skills a child acquires at varying ages and development stages, in accordance with the theories of Piaget, and as each child gravitates throughout time, he or she is afforded the opportunity the absorb information as they naturally should.  Along with the thinking of Montessori, the center focuses on a child’s development, and as Malaguzzi recommends, all observations made are used to plan for child-led exploration.

Aside from this, the company takes a multi-sensory approach, focusing on all areas of your child’s growth, including STEM concepts, reading/writing readiness, singing, learning the basics of Spanish and American Sign Language.

To learn more about the opportunity to learn at the Lightbridge Academy, refer to the Academy’s official description.

How Much Does Liftique Cost?

The Liftique skin tightening procedure is a non-invasive, FDA-approved cosmetic procedure, with the aim of restoring your skin’s firmness of your face and neck.

Requiring no surgery, fillers, peels or lasers, the Liftique procedure is ideal for those who are looking to restore their skin for a youthful appearance.

How much does the Liftique skin tightening procedure cost?

The costs of the Liftique procedure will depend on your geographical region, how complex your situation is and the doctor you hire.  With so many factors to consider, it can be hard to offer an exact estimate, but from the people who did share their experiences online, it seemed the prices were within the $8,000 range.  As it is a cosmetic insurance, there’s a good chance your health insurance policy will not cover the procedure.

According to the doctors at Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeons, they said the procedure could cost around $8,000 per treatment; however, the costs, as noted, would vary depending on your geographical region, your doctor’s experience and the complextiy of the procedure.

One patient via Realself.com used the Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeons and stated she paid $8,000 and saw great results.

Factors affecting the price

The doctor you hire

A doctor with more experience, additional certifications and a better reputation will almost always charge more than a doctor fresh out of medical school.  According to the Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeons we cited earlier, a good doctor, if you were to hire one, should be well trained in RF devices to guarantee your safety as a patient while the procedure is being performed.  It’s also important to consider choosing a doctor who is part of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, along with a certification of training for the Liftique treatment.  A good doctor with experience and certifications may charge more; however, it can help assure you he or she is capable of performing the procedure safely, saving you from harmful side effects after the procedure completes.

How many treatments are needed?

In some cases, some patients may require more than one treatment in the future if the results are not as envisioned, but the Liftique.com does note no repeat visits are necessary.  In some cases, the face and neck may require only one treatment, but in specific circumstances, especially if deep wrinkles are noted, more than one session could be needed six to nine months in the future.  The results are generally dependent upon how well you take care of your skin as it ages naturally, such as protecting it from the sun and living a healthy lifestyle, for instance.

How does the Liftique procedure work?

The Liftique procedure uses what’s known as Radio-Frequency (RF) energy, which is applied directly to your skin to help heat the deep layers of your skin where the collagen and elastin fibers are.  As the RF energy reaches beneath the surface of your skin’s layer, it is able to tighten the fat and other connective tissues, essentially adding another layer of rejuvenation to help create tighter skin.  In addition to this, the RF energy can also help shrink the pores and restore sun-damaged skin as well.

Recovery

After the procedure completes, doctors do note you should expect to see some swelling, with most patients not requiring pain medications after the procedure completes, but for most, the swelling will be noticeable for at least two to three days, with some even feeling the swelling for up to 10 weeks.  In some cases, itching may be noted, but this can be relieved with an anti-histamine.

For most, the recovery period can take up to 10 days, with doctors recommending patients wait at least four to five days before performing light exercises.  After 10 to 14 days, on average, patients can resume strenuous workouts and return to work, even if bruising or swelling is noticeable.

Aside from the swelling, the skin may be extra sensitive to the touch, and after the procedure, patients are advised to wear sunscreen to help minimize any sun damage.

Liftique reviews

On this Yelp.com review for “Liftique,” located in Beverly Hills, California, five reviewers left a perfect 5 out of 5-star rating, with everyone talking about how impressed they were with the office and the results they saw weeks after the procedure was done.

Via Realself.com, as mentioned prior, we found two people who had the procedure completed and noted the same thing the Yelpers said, claiming the procedure had awesome results and they were pleased with the doctors they worked with.

Unlike traditional water softener filters that require salt, the LifeSource Water Systems will not require it and do not pollute freshwater resources.

100% maintenance free, these water systems have been certified, tested and have been said to have the highest test rating in all of the United States, according to the company’s report.

How much does a LifeSource whole house water system cost?

The cost of a LifeSource water system will greatly depend on the type of product you want to purchase and which outlet you purchase it from.  While the official website doesn’t list the prices, they instead ask you to fill out a form on the website for prices directly from one of their factory outlets located throughout the United States, and one person, via this Yelp review, warned that it’s impossible to receive a quote over the phone or online as they want to come to your to home to analyze your situation.

While the official website didn’t post the prices, we did find multiple people, primarily via Yelp reviews, that shared the prices they paid for a LifeSource whole home water system.  Like we mentioned above, the costs they paid were greatly dependent on the type of product they purchased and who they purchased it through.  Based on these factors, the costs, including installation seemed to be in the $1,500 to $4,000 range.  Depending on your setup, additional plumbing work may be required as well, which could increase the costs.

How does the LifeSource water system work?

According to the company, the systems uses a proprietary combination of coconut shell granular activated carbon which is able to help reduce objectionable tastes and odors, all while adding nothing to your home’s water.

The water conditioning unit, the LifeSource ScaleSolver PowerTAC Media, utilizes Template Assisted Crystallization (TAC) technology, and the atomic level templates on the surface of the small specially treated polymer spheres transform the dissolved CsCO3 into a crystalline form.  These crystals are said to be relatively insoluble, which allows it to isolate the CaC03 from the water chemistry and anything the water comes into contact with.

Each system automatically controls the rinsing cycles to help clean out any sediment in the carbon bed, and this rinse water, according to the company can be re-used so that no water goes to waste.  This rinse cycle is designed in a way to help turbulate the Granular Activated Carbon for better efficiency and a greater lifespan.

All systems are NSF/ANSI tested and certified for a filtration capacity ranging from 2.2 to 5.7 million gallons.

LifeRoom by Four Seasons Cost

The LifeRoom by Four Seasons, according to the company “isn’t just a room… it’s a total mind-body experience.”

How much does a LifeRoom by Four Seasons cost?

The official manufacturer of the LifeRoom, FourSeasons, does not note the exact pricing on their official website, with the exception of a tiny snippet at the bottom stating “starting at $9,999, with financing available.” Instead, they ask you to fill out the form with your name, phone number, email address and zip code for more pricing information.  Once connected with a local installer, you can then via a pricing matrix with all of the sizes and options.

While the official website did not specify the price, we did find some third-party sources that shared the price quotes they received, and from the looks of it, the costs would primarily depend on the customizations, the size, the contractor you’re using and features added.  With all of these factors in consideration, estimates can range anywhere from $10,000 to more than $30,000.

Patio Warehouse, Inc., for example, listed LifeRoom projects they worked on via Houzz.com and noted the average project cost in the United States, especially the Los Angeles area, could range anywhere from $10,000 to $25,000.  On that page, you could also check out pictures of past jobs they worked on.

Another review we found via Consumer Affairs stated she received a quote for the roll down screens, recessed lights, mood lights over the screens, motorized mister and electric heater for a little more than $20,000, but this did not include the additional electrical alterations she needed after the project was complete.

As it can be hard to give an exact estimate, we highly advise you use the free quote comparison tool, HomeAdvisor.com, a tool you can use to gather quotes from licensed contractors in your area.  Simply describe the type of LifeRoom you want and contractors can help you with a game plan.  No credit card is required.

LifeRoom by Four Seasons overview

Screens

The LifeRoom screens, according to the company, are automatic and controlled by a remote control, descending around you with the touch of a button, instantly providing you protection and privacy from the outdoor elements.  Inside, the LED lights can light up the interior, creating a once outdoor space into an indoor oasis, all while in private beneath ambient lighting.  According to contractors, when the screens are shut, you can even project a television onto the screens.

Cool Mist & Soft Breeze Technology

The cool mist and soft breeze technology can reduce the interior of your LifeRoom by more than 40 degrees as the ultra-fine mist disappears, cooling the area around you.  Aside from this, the retractable screen, when closed, can block out up to 95% of the sun’s UV rays, protecting you from the blazing hot sunbeams.  The technology, according to the company, was created by a team of engineers and designers with more than 20 patents to their name.

Customizable

The company claims the LifeRoom can be customized to any budget and home architecture and is able to adhere to all HOA guidelines.

Tips to know

The standard LifeRoom will take about 10 business days to manufacturer, but in the case of a customized order, it could require additional time.

This FAQ states that the screens come in either white or black, with white being a premium option with an upcharge.

For an experienced installer, it should take two to three days to install.

The LifeRoom only requires a standard 110V power outlet.

Levulan Kerastick Cost

The photosensitizer Levulan Kerastick (20% delta-aminolevulinic acid HCl) is an in-office photodynamic therapy that is able to provide a high clearance with low downtime for appropriate actinic keratosis patients, according to DUSA Pharmaceuticals and is commonly used with the BLU-U® Blue Light Photodynamic Therapy Illuminator (Levulan PDT) at your doctor’s office.  It can also be used for off-label purposes to help treat mild to moderate acne.

By combining the Levulan Kerastick with a light source such as the BLU-U system, this type of photodynamic therapy is able to target specific skin cells, all while leaving the surrounding tissue unharmed.

How much does Levulan Kerastick cost?

The Levulan Kerastick, usually combined with the BLU-U® Blue Light Photodynamic Therapy Illuminator, is an FDA-approved treatment for actinic keratoses and sometimes can be used for off-label purposes for acne, according to Steven Hacker, MD.  These costs, when usually combined with the BLU-U® treatments, can range anywhere from as little as $35 to more than $250 per session, plus the office examination fee, all depending on how the therapy is performed, whether the BLU-U was used alone, for example, or in conjunction with Levulan.

As a package, which is often required, the totals can reach well into the $2,000 to $4,000 range, but this will greatly depend on the severity of the condition being treated, the geographical region and the doctor you hire.  This is the price without any health insurance coverage.

For example, on this Realself.com Q&A thread with multiple doctors, one doctor, Arnold R. Oppenheim, MD, said his office would charge $210 for a session, which would include the Kerastick and the BLU-U.  However, if you wanted the Blu-U only, then you could subtract $100.  In this same thread, another doctor, Keith A. Lopatka, MD, said the cosmetic treatments can cost anywhere from $30 to $250, all depending on what’s being used during the treatment.

As for health insurance coverage, it did appear that most policies would cover the procedure only if you were being treated for a treatment of actinic keratoses on the head and/or neck.  If you’re using it for any other purposes, then there’s a good chance your health insurance provider will not cover the procedure.  To know for certain if your policy will cover the procedure since there are hundreds of policies on the market, we strongly encourage you to call your insurance company to know your policy’s restrictions.

The procedure

Photodynamic therapy, involving the Levulan Kerastick, is usually a two-step process, according to Docshop.com.  The first step involves applying the Levulan Kerastick photosensitizing solution to the targeted area, followed by the exposure to the light source, which is often the BLU-U system.  The purpose of the Levulan Kerastick is to make sure the skin is more sensitive to the light and is compromised of an aminolevulinic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance in the body.

Usually, the solution is applied in one session and will be asked to come in the following day for the light therapy session.  However, as per DocShop, if used for acne, then Levulan is usually done in one day as the solution will be left on the skin for up to 60 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of light exposure.

After the procedure completes, your skin will be extremely sensitive to light and your doctor will recommend avoiding any sunlight UV rays for at least 48 hours.

How much does an alignment cost at Les Schwab?

Browsing at the official website of Les Schwab, we couldn’t find the exact prices of an alignment; rather, the company asked that you came into a location in order to visually inspect your tire alignment and offer a suggestion from there.

If you know, for a fact, that you do need an alignment, then costs, at least from what we researched via countless Yelp reviews, seemed to be in the $80 to $100 range and would greatly depend on your geographical region, the type of car you drive and the type of tire alignment you needed.  This was also confirmed by the company’s FAQ.

For example, for the Redmond, Washington location, one reviewer was quoted $99 plus tax for an alignment, while another reviewer for the Rocklin, California location was charged $80 for an alignment.

The Les Schwab alignment value promise

The company, as per its alignment sub-page, offers a free visual alignment check, a 30-day guarantee on all alignments and a warranty that covers the labor costs at every Les Schwab location.

The company offers four-wheel alignment, standard alignment and a thrust alignment, and once they complete their initial check, there will be no charge if they see no adjustments are required.

Types of alignments available

Standard

Also referred to as a front-end alignment, the front wheels are aligned in a way so that they are parallel to the centerline of your car.  This is considered to be the simplest alignment, but it is not recommended for all cars.  Considered to be a less accurate option, a standard alignment may not center your steering wheel since it doesn’t work with rear wheel angles.

Thrust

Considered to be one of the most accurate options, a thrust alignment is usually recommended for a car without an adjustable rear suspension since only the front wheels will be adjusted.  Since there’s no guarantee that the rear wheels are pointed as straight as they need to be, the front wheels will be adjusted as best as they can be along the thrust line, which is where the two rear wheels will meet.  If successful, it should be good enough for a centered steering wheel.

Four wheels

An option for vehicles with an adjustable rear suspension, this type of alignment will help bring all four corners of your vehicle back in spec since they will be aligned to the center of the vehicle.  During this process, the rear axle angle sare measured, adjusted and then the front will be worked on in the same manner.  According to most manufacturers, this is the most accurate and recommended option.

Do you need a tire alignment?

One of the most common signs of a misalignment, according to the companymay include one or more of the following:

Steering pull

Your car may pull from one side to another, often caused by road conditions as this is often due to the grooves in the asphalt that’s slightly farther apart from your car’s axles, allowing you to feel the pull as the tires on one side of the car is slightly higher.  If, in case, your tires are higher in the center, the car may veer in order to find a level surface.  A torque steer, which is another type pull that happens while you accelerate due to the difference in power delivered, can sometimes be due to a brake caliper sticking, not fully disengaging from the brake disc or a failing tire could be the culprit causing the steering pull in the first place.  In some cases, depending on how the car drives, a tire alignment may not be required in this case; rather, it could be due to a worn suspension part such as a ball joint, tire rod and/or strut bearing.

Worn tires

As your tire wear, it can often be caused due to worn out shocks, struts, bushing, springs or even from carrying larger-than-average loads, all of which can cause your car to be put out of alignment.

Off-center steering wheel

Caused by either worn out steering or suspension parts, an off-centered steering wheel that doesn’t stay straight doesn’t always mean an alignment will be the root of the cause.  A visual inspection often determines if an alignment is required.

Out-of-balance tires

Lastly, out-of-balance tires can sometimes mean you need an alignment, especially if your steering wheel vibrates, but again, this doesn’t always mean you need an alignment as other parts of your car can be the route of the problem.

When the company recommends an alignment

When you purchase new tires

Since an alignment can prolong the life of your tires, any good tire retailer will want to make sure you get the full thread life out of your tires.  They also recommend it during a new install since it can help keep your warranty active as many tire warranties do require you include an alignment during the install.

You lift or lower your vehicle

Whenever you lift or lower your vehicle, you will affect your camber, caster or toe angles, according to the company.

Any suspension-based parts were replaced or adjusted

Continuing from the lifting subheading, whenever your repair or replace any suspension parts, such as your tie rods, ball joints, or shocks, to name a few, there’s probably a good chance the alignment will be out of spec as well, and if you fail to fix them, your suspension problem may reoccur again.

You were recently in an accident that involved either a fender-bender or a hard impact with a curb

Kind of self-explanatory, an alignment check after any type of accident is highly advised as any impact can often knock your car off spec.

It’s been over a year since your last adjustment

Lastly, it’s best to have your alignment check at least annually to make sure your car’s alignment isn’t out of spec.  Regular checks, as noted in our intro, can help correct your gas mileage, tire wear and keep your car running smoothly.
